From Gamershall.de. I can't read a word of it (its in German), but they gave it an 85% and their Silver Award. I'm going to see if I can get an English translation, but it can be accessed below for those that would like to read it.

They like it a lot. It's a game "for thinking wargamers". Only "someone who thinks a lot of moves ahead" is going to win. They point out the difference to WitP (carriers, aircraft, faster turn speed, etc.). Their only real issue is that the game is too expensive.

Babelfish translation:
Plan was orange: Dreadnoughts into the Pacific 1922−1930,
War plan orange − Tank ships in the Pacific 1922−1930
In this was into the Pacific Abk?ling go we into the world of alternative history.
You have to?rnehmen the M?ichkeit the Pacific fleet of the Westm?te or the Japanese in 4 different scenarios. The two gro?n campaigns play either in the period of 1922 to 1926 or in the period of 1926 to 1930.
Plan was orange is an affectionately arranged Motifikation of the play was into the Pacific (of the old master Gary Grigsby) with an unbelievable F?e at detail loyalty and historical accuracy. This play is f?Personen the f?die war-marine between the world wars interesieren itself a source at information.
The lack to powerful Air Forces and the range lacking of the ships of this time, as well as the resources those are necessary around a war fleet under way to hold make were plan orange to of were into the Pacific very different play.

Zus?lich to the normal Kampgnen/Szenarios which one as Singleplayer against the AI play can, gives it also still 2 zus?liche PBEM scenario, which was plan orange a play f?sich alone makes; represent exactly the same as it ansich one to the gr?en expansion set and Mods f?ein ver?entlichtes play.
Fan of was into the Pacific becomes exactly the same as beginners of this war that never was (at least not into the n?ste decade − Was inspired into the Pacific) its.

The play consists of 8 scenarios − 2 Kamagnen with ever 3 variants − and two smaller scenarios.
The battle list of the Air Forces is detailiert extreme and investigates, with 74 different types of aircraft.
Also the battle list of the fleets is historically in every detail represented − with 311 historical Japanese, American ones, British, Franz?, Canadian, Australian, Holl?i, Chinese and even Siamesi ship's classes.
In the data bases all ships of the twenties of the last century are detail-faithfully stored − some of these ships do not seem however iin to the scenarios, or m?icherweise.
The battle list of the armies covers all m?iche − of the Franz? Indchina troops up to US Infantrie divisions which can be set up in the Erstfall.
Almost any one in this period of these armies used weapon was brought into the play: of the American 4inch M?ern?r the British 60Pound MK2 cannons up to the Japanese 24cm type 45 field cannon.
All m?ichen tanks and test tank of this time are verf?ar − of the franz?schen FT−17 up to US M1921 battle tanks.
The graphics of the ships is m?ichst detail exact, and shows even Umr?ungen and modernization measures.

The quite good AI guarantees some hard however pastime-ends plays.
Still better however the play is in Multiplayer PBEM − the problems of the Kriegsplanner of the twenties reflect themselves only here best.

Contrary to it was NO production system − into the Pacific gives; this permits to immediately avail itself a new player without gr?re difficulties of the Japanese side.

The air units were formed based on documents of the First World War and the twenties with the probable lists and Kampfst?en. As far as exact documents were present these were used.

Plan orange was offers one m?ichst detail-faithful simulation of the problems, those the milit?schen planners of the twenties had and offers to au?rdem the full extent to Verf?ng standing milit?schen means of this time f?alle inkludierten nations.

The PBEM scenarios is m?ichst balanced, the players starts with very?lichen conditions without rough Einschrenkungen − all m?iche can happen thus in a PBEM play. China, Indochina, Phillipinen, everything is m?ich. The AI tries to that was plan orange to hold − in a PBEM however everything can happen!!

Au?rdem were brought in in the play many ship types never realized, like e.g. Tosa, Kii, South Dakota battle ship's classes, and also the Amagi, Lexington and G3 Schlachtkreuzer−Klassen.
Also in the twenties the scrapped Vorg?er of the Panzeschiffe has now chance to show who the ruler of the seas is.

Result:

This is times again a play more f?Liebhaber from leg-hard durchdachter strategy − only who many Z? in advance plans comes to the earned victory. Even still far more than with WitP (was into the Pacific).
The resources and Streitkr?e are by far more difficult to retain. Much which with WitP no problem was, becomes in WPO a hard Gesch?. Supply does not come any longer alone to Anchorage − one now supply mu?es. These supply convoys guarantee already times f?die or other heavy Auseinadersetzung on high lake so?lich happen it however now also in other areas.

One gro? Conversion is safe of beginning the absence of a schlagkr?igen Air Force and the Flugzeugtr?r.
Thus one has already times very fast none exactly Aufkl?ng approximately around the own St?punkte.
Nevertheless one can reach much patience of some with something?ung and with the airplanes − the opposing fleet far as 2 or 3 Hexes so long is not distant!!

Also the strongly eingeschr?te range of the old battle ships becomes with the distances in the Pacific the problem − one needs to run?rall Nachschubsst?punkte around these ships by to hold. Nothing is not to be had more badly than a federation of battle ships in the middle in anywhere without fuel.

As a very much interesante innovation the so-called Q−Schiffe turned out: there are two variants. An auxiliary cruiser, that as a escort well suitably is (in addition, to the St?n of the opposing trade) and auxiliaryminecasually. that much gro? Mine fields to put knows.

WPO is around some faster play than WitP a − no more lengthy 100 and more Aufkl?ngsfl?n of Langstreckenaufkl?rn, thus a few Z?n does not last each turn only around the 5 minutes after.

The goal is to be placed it again and again the opponent on hocher lake and be defeated with the own battle fleet. In addition, Sp?r become those few Flugzeugtr?r very important instrument. Even if one should keep it away from battle ship fleets. They are however perfectly f?Aufkl?ngsmissionenund Handelsst?ins?e suitably!

And now to the point of minus of WPO:
− as own quite expensive play is sold, although it is ansich only a MOD von WitP.
There is hardly spielerische the?derungen this really justifies.

Therefore this Spiel/Mod of me gets 10 points less than WitP!!

It is the year 1922. The First World War is past and in the world prevails uncertain peace.
The alliance between the United States and the other winner states is weakly, there the Europ?chen states tries the uncertain peace in Europe to retain.
From fear before the rising Japanese Gro?acht, a set of Kriegspl?n f?den case of a war in the Pacific area created the United States of America. The names of these Pl?: PLAN WAS ORANGE.

i myself was very relieved to read that the Conversion is safe of beginning the absence of a schlagkrigen Air Force and the Flugzeugtrr, because there's absolutly no way i ever would have bought the game otherwise!

That was an awsome movie.

Especially the barber shop scene with Napaloni.

As soon as I am done with my Battlefront Europe review yours will be the next in my cue.

I am enjoying it a lot. I'm not sure if I like it as much as WitP but it is a fun one.
