What is best for the US
Long term strategy.
So far the US have managed to sink 60 to 70 % of the the Japanese fleet however they are still powerful and the amount of ground troops that they can bring into battle is still a force to be reckon with. What options do the US have.
The US aim was to libarate the Phillipines from Japanese hands, this at present cannot be achieved. Pearl harbor is under seige. Most key islands in the pacific have already fallen into Japanese hands. The US fleet is crippled defending Pearl Harbor.
Option 1 Defend Pearl harbor to the end. Bring more troops in as they come. Let the japs be bogged down in a fight they cannot win.
Advatages :- Holding pearl harbor as a staging base means that it doesnt need to be fought for in the future.
Its port facilities prevents ships for being sunk. Holding pearl prevents the japs for gaining an extra 900 points plus supplies and fuel stockpiled.
Disadvatages:- The US fleet is bogged down, most BB are in heavy need for repair, the longer the US fleet hangs around pearl, important ships are not getting repaired. Thus the liberation of the Phillipines cannot happen. Losing pearl will give Japs extra points plus fuel and supplies.
There is a risk that the japs will defeat the defenders of pearl.
More US ships will be sunk and damaged.
US transport ships are at risk from Japanese subs.
West coast is under threat.
Option 2 Pull out of pearl,
Advatages :- Save all ground units that are in pearl. US fleet can repair and come back.
Less ships will be damaged and sunk. West coast can be defended.
Disadvatages :- Will give Japs full control of the pacific.
Pearl habour will need to be fought for again.
Supplies and reinforcements will be harder to send.
Will give Japs points
So what do you think gentlemen?

4 US Battleships sunk
What is considered to be the toughest battle the US has fought has resulted in the lost of 4 US battleships and dozens of destroyers. Japanese naval assets also suffered heavy loses with the report lost of 5 Battleships being sunk. At 1900hr the US fleet made up of a number of taskforces left pearl to intercept enemy transport ships on route to pearl. During the night no sightings of enemy ships occured. However a number of Japanese subs tried to attack resulting in battleship Tennessee taking a torpedo hit. The fleet returned to pearl in the early morning and made contact with a number of Japanese batteships, surface escorts, transports ships and destroyers. Most of the US fleet managed to surprise the Japs that weren't in position for battle, however once the Japs ships came into action US ships started to take a beating and some getting dozens of hits and being sunk. US commanders orders were not to retire or return to port for this was the fight to the end. Results is every Japanese combat ship that took part accept for a few transport ships were sunk. A number of famous leaders on the Japanese side was also reported to have been lost.

RE: Japs ships are starting to hit US subs
Heh new to the forum i registered just so i could comment Ok so you're starting to take BB loses now.
Pull back. I looked at the reinforcement schedule and you'll get 40+ divisions and its a 4 year war. You have blooded his nose and wiped out his complete bb/bc force or put them out of action for a long time right?
It seems like he is hell bent on Pearl. He has lost 9000+!!! men to try to land more troops. He is going to throw everything he has at you and you will eventually fall. The points he will get from just killing pearls troops will be a big blow to overcome.
How many dd's do you have left? Can you give us some damage screen shots? Whats your fleet makeup at pearl? You have what 100+ dd's? break them up into fast transport taskforces with a few AO's stationed in positions from PH to Mare and start moving troops out. use dd's at flank speed and let them refuel off the ao's.
That way they can refuel in mid jump.
even if you dont leave pearl get those BB's out of pearl. You have plenty of dd's if you want to keep a harassing force around. Think of it this way....
You pull out of pearl with 600-800 AP take it back to pearl and bide your time. If your game is like all the other games once pearl falls then the other nations are involved. That will open up other avenues i bet he is not expecting. Use the british fleet to tear up pescadores. He seems to have thrown everything to pearl and i bet you 100 dollars everything to the west is free for the harassing.
Just my two cents. But definately give us some screenies!
