Jeff, you are unbeatable as USN in 17, you may have a taker if you offer scn 19 (not me though as I have too many games and not enough time already[;)])

Happy new year by the way....

I would do that one too (19)[:D]

What surprised me is I offered to play IJN at 160 vs 100[8D]
the guy whined and somebody offered to play at 120 vs 100![&:]

Of course I would 17 at 18-0 or 200 (I got beat actually at 200 once...I was stupid and got most of my infantry into Luganville
and the guy walked into NM.[:-]

......If I had hung on for 3 more turns the marines would have been there...Needless to say I am less aggressive until the marines come..[&o]

And I would do 19 (though probably at 140 or 120.....[:)]

Somebody.....Go for it. Let`s have some new year cheer and whack the allies![X(]

that somebody was me.

and the guy didnt "whine" its just his first long PBEM scenario so its quite a learning experience for him. and its interesting for me if i can pull out a draw in ´43. [8D]

I am playing the WITP scenario for this period and it suffers one huge problem..No ship
repairs allowed (it runs from 5/42 to 2/43.....So I think UV is still better for this neck of the woods.

Ursa whenever you are ready..

As for scenario 17...I guess with a true beginner 120 to 100 might work...[&:]But with anybody with experience demanding that the IJN play under 140 is not cool[:-]...

I am playing right now a game with the IJN at 200.....I might lose (he has beaten before once)....

Now for scenario 19 it would be a different story. Much of the US advantage is gone so 100 to 100 or 120 to 100 would be fine. Any more than 120 to 100 and probably too much in favor of the IJN.

jeffs you are absolutely right that you have to pull off a couple of serious stunts even against an inexperienced player in #17 to WIN (most of all because the scenario is long enough for him to do all the mistakes in the beginning and make it right when the time comes) but its perfectly possible to pull out a draw if everything works out right. and i like the historical feeling of 120 to 100 better than a beefed up japanese side just to win. (at least #17)
when i want a fair chance to win as IJN i dont play 200 to 100 in #17 but switch to #19 100/100 since its balanced in more aspects than just numbers. [:)]
