Free Avalon Hill PC Games...

Post by Veldor »

NetAcquire I probably play the most as I love that game, just picked up the FlatTop link today (random web search luck) which made me think to compile this. My namesake game has even been converted (Wizards). I've never seen a good complete list so I made one and perhaps you can all add to it. AH/VG games only please (Past or Present). The games should be complete with all game logic and some type of graphics (Not merely some type of PBEM tool such as VASSAL games). Of course works in progress are fine as games like these tend to fall into that category for some time though many if not all below are entirely complete.

Colossus is an excellent recreation of Titan which is one of my favorite board games. The gameplay is good and stable and the AI can be pretty tough.

Let me guess: mentoned games are computerized versions of board games like MegaMek is. Did I got it right?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Tried Jasl. Looks like you do need the ASL rules to play. It also kept slowing down to the point of freezing.

Magic Realm works great. It's one of my all time favorite AH fantasy games. I can't believe someone finally actually brought it to the computer. But, I don't remember dieing so much. lol I killed 3 trolls and 2 large snakes and get my butt kicked by some silly bats, the game cheats I tell you. It NEVER (well hardly ever) puts my target where I am attacking. lol And if I move it to where it keeps going THEN it goes to where I USED to swing. lol Well on the bats anyways. The White Knight is about the only one I can get anywhere with. My poor Amazon got killed everytime.

Gonna have to try those others, this is great Veldor thanks. ;)
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

JASL is definitely one of the few above that still needs a lot of work. It does, as far as I know, interpret rules but that doesn't mean it tells you how to play.

Thats probably true of most of the games. While they enforce rules and what-not they may not actually tell you WHAT the rules are unless you already knew.

It's already a grey area with those games so I'd suppose posting the rules online would edge it even closer..

There are abstarcts of rules of BattleTech all over WWW. Somthing similar could be about these games. You just need find them.
