3x3: Croatia vs evil Roman Empire

The time has come, a small but fierce CRO-team challenges rest of the world : Amiral Laurent, General Hoeppner and "Roman" the Oleg (not Mastruko, he is our appointed advisor[:D]). You can find house rules in war room section and Cics for theatres:

1. pfnognoff (PI, China)
2. hawker (Malaya, DEI)
3. pauk (Burma, Pacific and Tojo)

Our dear audience, I (the great Tojo) have bad feeling about the game. Why is that? Not only because our opponents are though ones, but I have stubborn generals. Yes, they are both stubborn, asking for advices but don't care for it[:D].

My initial grand strategy for the game, my great administration & organizing skills are now useless simply because my team-mates can't recognize and follow The Great Vision.

Anyway, I will do my best to force them to fight like real men and you can be sure every single one succes is result of MY skills. If they will listen to me, we are going to win...[:D]

And now few words about strategy:

BURMA: I took only one Tk regiment and 4 Mix Bde - i think it wil be enough to keep Raheang and Bankok while 33th Div arrives. As you can see i do not expect a lot here. It would be foolish from me after I did it twice (vs String and AndyMac); I'm sure that my opponents read AAR and they are preparing for that. 55th Division is borrow to Hawker - we need Singapore ASAP.

PACIFIC: Also do not have significant forces there. Hawker and pfnognoff took from me both CV force. Pfnognoff (hey, this guy is incredible, he want Baby KB for covering Davao invasion! Phew!) so my actions here is very limited.

KB goes for Singapore and will remain in DEI, while i hope i will get Baby KB in few turns. But this won't help me a much. Enemy will try to take advantage here (knowing the fact that KB is in DEI) and i have to be extremely careful here.

my targets here are:

Kaveing (recon post)
Rabaul (when B KB arrives)

In the Marshalls i have to be very careful. It will take some time while i can upgrade Claudes to Zeros so I withdraw most of my ships to Truk.

And that's it... not a much from Croatina greatest general ever, I agree. But, i sacrified myself, trying to help hawker (agressive, stubborn) and pfnognoff (stubborn, hesitator)...

Just few words about our choosed target for turn 1. Why not PH?


There are several reasons for that - one of them is that PH attack very rarely achived historical results. With attacking of Singapore we can be sure that we will get points for two BBs and, in the same tame, remove the threat of the British fleet in SRA area. Dutch naval force reinforced with American ships and remains of British fleet can be formidable opponent only if we ignore them. But I'm sure that we are going to have numerical (and class) advantage in DEI/SRA.

Of course, strike on Singapore make sense only if we going to capture the whole SRA earlier, much earlier than historical - our long term goal is INDIA!
Otherwise, we didn't do nothing (American AF is intact, old BBs with cooperation of CVs can give me headache in the Pacific).

Critical moment will be attack on CF. Let's hope that pfnognoff will found the way and capture CF early. Then division for Philippines will be relased to new assigment - capturing Java and after that India. We will leave enough forces on Luzon (and build the forts) to prevent Allied counter attack, while Army bombers will bomb Manila next few months (starving the enemy, gaining experience)

My personal wish is that enemy start to evacuate cadre from PI, because once when our bomber crew reach 80exp, the enemy subs will be more than decimated in short period. And, what is more important, enemy will spend PPs for nothing - evacuated cadres would not grow because the main unit will be tied in Manila for months.

Well,i see that our dear "Tojo" drawing some maps from his HQ in Tokio[;)]. I see also that he is overjoyed with himself.
Lets see his targets at start of war:
1.He must take Rabaul and adjancent islands,very hard to do indeed[:D]. I will take Rabaul 1941 with fishermen boats,but he wants carriers[X(].
2.He must hold Burma while big boys(read:hawker)deal with Malaya.
Another hard task,he must hold off some bad allied troops with elite Japanese forces.[:D][:D]

Enough joking,this is plan for Malaya:
Khota Baru will be attacked first day,18th division along with one mix. brigade and base force.All under command of 25th army HQ. These troops will hit shore at Khota Baru early in the morning 7.12.
Main forces will land at Songhkia,this will include 5th division,tank brigade,eng regiments,construction regiments etc.
I will also transfer to Songkia Imp.guards,55th div.
One division (56th) will be "ghost division".This division will hit unexpected. Move of this division depends of enemy movement in first days.
KB will attack Singapore and sink force Z,bombers from Saigon will destroy AF in Singapore.
Other heavy bombers will hit Khota Baru on first day.
After landings all depends of speed of my forces.
More of "operation Malaya" after first turn.
P.S.Allied commander of Malaya will be Gen.Hoepner.

This is just a quick correction on Pauk's map of Philipines invasion he posted earlier. He got so involved with Burma that he wants to unload 15th Army at Philipines and we all know those guys belong to Burma Area Army [:D]

After Paras secure Lingayen first wave will unload and it will include 48th and 4th Divisions, 65th Ind Brig, two Tank Regs and two Eng Regs plus some Arty and 14th Army HQ. First wave will proceed to take San Marcelino if conditions (read enemy) allow, or wait for second wave and then crush Clark Field. Second wave will unload 2nd and 38th Divisions, 16th Army HQ some more Arty and some more Eng Regs.

Laoag will be cleared by Para drop and engineers and airfield personell will unload to provide airbase for further operations.

In the south Legaspi will be taken but not used for further advancement until 21st division arrives there.

Further south Davao, Cagayan and Jolo will be taken on day two of the war. Baby KB will be in the area making sure Huston and Boise don't make any trouble.

What a brilliant play by me! I managed to capture Wake and destroyed enemy Wildcats there!

Now the audience can clearly see why i'm the most clever and most competent player in Croatian team. There were some actions from my generals too, but their achivements will be forever shadowed (?) with my glorious performance....

I've send 4 CA to bombard Wake prior ground attack, and now is time to run away - don't want to get caught by enemy CVs.

Suprisingly Hawker didn't make mistake at Singapore. In fact, his decision to set Kates on 9.000ft was a good one (hate to say). Repulse sinks, same as CL Daneu. Losses are light on our side. What pleases me even more is 5 destroyed Swordfish on the ground - they proved to be extremely dangerous!

Anyway, that was a easy part of the job. I'm expecting that AVG could arrive next day in Malaya. There is still plenty of bases operational - Johore Baru, Georgetown and hope that Hawker is aware of it.

In the afternoon phase, few pathetic strikes with British bombers, but no single hit has scored.

Unfortunatly i can't say the same for the Dutch Martins. They attacked transport fleet north of Borneo and hit AP - she is in tough position.


CHINA & PHILIPPINES

Bombing of Hong Kong (patethic performace) - 13 Sallys, 2nd strike with Bettys from Taiwan[X(]. Ccccc, what a nut move.... Pfnognoff had enemy bombers waiting to be destroyed on the CF (including B-17s) but he decide to drop pamflets on HK...phew!

GH is on the move in the China - he entered Vietnam and activated 3 VM divisions! What will Pfnognoff do there?

But guilty as charged. However, isn't our little pbem experimental? Geographicaly limited? No production tinkering so less Zeros? Btw, who lost 8 or 9 BBs in a week[;)]

Second turn sent. I had a headache about this second turn,what to do,what to hit.

MALAYA

I have two plans:
1.Plan BLUE

Invasion of Kuantan with 56th division with KB as support in order to cut allied forces at Malaya.

That plan is rejected becouse off several strong reasons:
-KB will be in range of his aircrafts from Singapore and one lucky hit can ruin our day.
-In case of attack on Kuantan i will be forced to bombard Singapore with nells from Saigon. I NEVER use nell/betty to bombard AF,except at turn one.

Plan RED:

56th division will disembark in Songhkia along with Imp.guards and 55th division. After that we can start rushing from north in dreadfull charge.
Khota Baru will be conquered on day 3,after that the sky above Singapore is going to be black[:D].
KB will pay a visit to Jawa[;)]

BORNEO

Invasion forces are at spot,few miles north.
Kuching,Brunei,Miri,Jasselton,Sandakan will be attacked tommorow.
Invasion fleet for Tarakan waits for general pfnognoff to clear path. This is great danger and i hope that he can clear the way quick.

Compare to these operation,some operation in Pacific(Wake) is like walking in the park.
