Game wont start

Post by klange »

I just bought the game (GGWAW) via a digital download. Everything seems to work fine, I have installed the game, and downloaded the latest patch. When I start the game the intro works well and everything seems nice, but then It starts to load the real game, and the everything just chrashes! Aparently its something with my screen, but I dont understand why that should be a problem, since I have no problems running other games like rome total war or civ4? what could the problem be? my computer lives up to the minimum requirments and I use windows xp

Please help.

Can you please post a dxdiag report for your computer. This will help us troubleshoot the problem. It could be a video or sound driver problem. Also, there are known problems with some 3rd party codecs that might be on your system (something I don't know much about). Usually these problems at start up our driver issues.

Kristian,

I agree with Joel, please post a DxDiag (instructions for that are pinned in this forum) and we'll see if we can figure out the problem.

Hello. thanks for replying.

This is the information windows gives me, when I restart the computer:

BCCode : ea BCP1 : FF5BBA30 BCP2 : 8204EF60 BCP3 : 82088EE0
BCP4 : 00000001 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

C:\DOCUME~1\KRISTI~1\LOKALE~1\Temp\WERb708.dir00\sysdata.xml

As far as I can understand it has something to do with my graphics driver. I think this is a little odd, since I have never before had any trouble with it. If you can help, I would be very happy.

What we need to see is a dxdiag report on your computer. There is information on how to get a DirectX Dialog report that is in a thread that is at the top of the Support section of the forum (How to get a DirectX Dialog file). This will tell us information about your various hardware cards and drivers and might help us identify what is going wrong.
