I would estimate so but I'am more than happy if he launches this operation. It would give me a chance to start bombing Japanese home islands! [:D] ...and the airforce at Russia isn't looking too bad at all.
RE: Japanese infantry advance in Northern China
to be honest russian replacement rates are totally unhistorical and in russian favour
so after full year of war you will have lot of equipment spare , lot of supply and good troops
air force is defensive of nature - lots of good short range fighters and LBA can be brought from US
it is suicide for Japan to allow basing 4e bombers in range of Home Island industry in 43 especially bases are well suplied and covered by fighters

RE: Japanese infantry advance in Northern China
I haven't look at the Russian replacement rates but I take your word for it.
Yes, I really would love to have the oppurtunity to place 4E bombers to Russia. This would result:
a) Large raids againts Japanese industry at home islands.
b) Large raids on harbours at Japan.
So, to put it blunt that would mean a disaster to Hawker.
I would propably brought in US Fighters to bolster the defensive line. Few Corsairs squadrons could cause havoc.
I'am actually waiting for the next turn. Intresting few turns ahead... The BB bombardments at Gilberts and most importantly my CV adventure at South Pacific.
(Hopefully, he has some transport TF sailing near Rabaul too).

RE: Japanese infantry advance in Northern China
sth like 300 inf squads and 100 fighters per month so
you have 5-6k spare inf squads and 1.5k spare fighters + almost unlimited ( at this stage ) supply

All in all a good turn. I will raid the harbour in forthcoming turn too since there are around 35 ships at Rabaul.
After this I will move my CV’s to Noumea and refit them there. When this is done than I will continue my operations in South Pacific.
I’am also setting up an invasion TF and they are destined to invade Apamama.

RE: Allied CV's visit Rabaul... Pressure builds up...
I agree... and I'am actually expecting better results in forthcoming turn [:D]
As I said there are some +30 ships at Rabaul and others sailing in the area.
Hopefully my CV's can sunk quite a few of them.
Yes, the Invasion at the Gilberts Island chain will begun soon (within 2 weeks).
Damn, hopefully Hawker will send the turn back soon [:)]

well to be fair hawker did take on a crappy situation [;)]so i would expect him to take a lot longer on earlier turns than maybe you are used to. .. to be fair you did let the damaged CV's escape which is nice but his LBA will take months to get better if its been neglected by vorester <sp>

RE: Allied CV's visit Rabaul... Pressure builds up...
True. Hawker did not plan the early advance of Japanese side.
The war so far has taken a lot of casualties. Especially the airwar has been bloody. I think I made the right choice when I moved some British & US aircraft there.

Definately, it is nice to get this one going since we starting to get to the point where tables will turn [:)] (hopefully) ....and it is already late 1943 so I think We will make it to the end in this one! I think there are not that many PBEM that has gotten past 1944?
1:1 ratio isn't flattering againts Oscars but as you said those Japanese pilots propably weren't rookies! I think my pilot experience was between 60-70... but the most important thing was to burn Japanese supplies. He still has + 200 000 troops in Northern China but those troops haven't tried anymore assaults towards Sining! This is propably due to the fact that he is short on supplies there.
My CV's are now heading to Noumea. There they will refuel and than sail towards Gilberts! As soon as they arrive there I will launch an invasion againts Apamama! There are now + 40 000 Japanese garrisoning the atoll so I need to go in with force.
The staging point for this operation is Nanomea atoll.
