IJN/IJA Opponents needed!!!

Post by SGT Swanson »

I'm looking for 1 or 2 opponents (1 each) for the following:

1) WitP ABs map (standard) and Nik Mod 4.2 (scen. 120).

2) CHS scen. 155 (ABs Extended Map).

HOUSE RULES:

1) No more than 6 ships in a ASW TF (can not have more than 3 MSW)
2) Allies can not have more than 10% of 1 Ftr. squadron on CAP for the first turn (It was a Sunday and that was part of the surprise).
3) HQs should be used realisticaly (by using their Command Radius & Assigning Objectives).
4) Both Sub Doctrins turned to OFF
5) No 4E bombers can fly at less than 5000' (their too effective on Naval Attack @ 1000' IMHO)
*6) Player Defined Upgrades: OFF (trying it this way for the 1st time)

I can do a turn a day, but don't expect the same. I would like an opponent that can at least do 2 to 3 turns a week though, if possible.

* Note: This can be agreed apon or expanded id discussed.

I may be interested, but not until early January.

Got to get through Christmas first.

I wouldn't mind negotiating on the PDU - my preference would be to keep it but with big limits. i.e. that 2E bombers can only upgrade to 2E's, no upgrading of Jap dive bombers to lily's (and beyond!), any other ones we can come up with.

Sounds good to me. Though I prefer to paly the Nik mod if thats ok with you. Game version: 1.60 official patch.

PDUs - I don't mind limitations, but I hope we don't get too crazy with them. I say err on the side of historical. For example: If the unit historically exchanged B-18 Bolos for B-17s, then this should still be allowed. I have the Terminal upgrades spreadsheet and we can use this to help us remember what we agreed on. We can set it up just for our game, and I can Email it to you.

I will be out of town until Tuesday, then I can start working on it. And have my side ready for you when you return. How does that sound?

Email: sgt.swanson@leswanson.org

I also have a web site, and can post the sheets there for easier reference.

Bump again.....BTW is there a problem with playing or wanting to play games with the Nik-mod or CHS scenarios? I'm surprised that I'm having such a hard time getting a game going.

Note: The newest version of the Nik-mod (5.0) was NOT converted for AB's map as yet, so I'm happy to play on the "official" map as well.

Note #2: I have a double install going, and the "Official" install has been patched to 1.602, while the CHS install is still the offficial 1.60.

I've had the same problem.[;)]

The opponents I've hooked up with want to wait for the next official patch.
That could be a year from now, since it seems that no one at Matrix will make a commitment as to when it'll be released.

I'll probably move on to another game by then, and I think that's what a few gamers have already done.[:D]

The 1.602 Beta patch seems stable enough, but I've heard many say not to use the 1.765? one. Patching during an ongoing game is easy enough. All one has to do is make sure the Jap player has the current turn and hasn't played it. Both sides patch and then the Jap player does his turn. It's just that simple.
