Hi, Sorry wrong choice of word. I didn't mean exploit as in take advantage I meant exploit as in adventure. OK there was 16k supply there. What was required amout?

A damaged aircraft is one that will not fly regardless.
Morale and Fatigue have been known to be aircraft as well as pilots since UV design phase. (It is not an invention to explain after the fact but has always been part of calculation to see if an aircraft not otherwise reported as damaged was in condition to fly)

If a group has 30 aircraft and all are listed as ready they still might be in poor condition (shown as fatigue) Aircraft do not abort after take off because of "left engine irregular" in WITP they simply do not take off. Fighters with high fatigue might fly CAP but in cobat the aircraft cannot gain it's full potentional because aircraft engine needs overhaul (it's ready and it flys but it is not 100 percent in combat)
The morale reduction is again made before launch when in reality it would be pilots who turn back before meeting enemy. ( and those that make combat turn back more often)

Of course good leaders get their groundcrew to take better care of aircraft and get the pilots to particapte in missions.

In a game with rules it is better to follow the rules then do what you think makes more sense. The game will follow the rules so you should run your turns to follow them as well.

Tarakan had 100 aviation support?
Supply moves towards demand.
Hi, Sorry wrong choice of word. I didn't mean exploit as in take advantage I meant exploit as in adventure.

No worries.
In a game with rules it is better to follow the rules then do what you think makes more sense. The game will follow the rules so you should run your turns to follow them as well.

[;)] I realize that. I am questioning the rules, that's all.
Tarakan had 100 aviation support?
Supply moves towards demand.

Tarakan did not have anywhere near 100 support. 23 I believe. But should that be the point given the model? This AV limit just further clouds the need for mission readiness and damaged/repairing aircraft as I see it.

In the case of Buna/PM and Pomala/Kendari posted above, supply moves regardless of demand.

Yep, hate when it does that. I have complained about that since day 1. AI sucks supplies to wherever IT wants it, not where you want it.[:@]

Does the same thing with resources and oil. Can not keep it in any one base and usually it will move it to some faraway no industry having base in Northern Japan. And then you have to ship back down again only to have it flow back north again.[:@]

Brilliant.[8|]

I'm not sure if this will reveal if indeed 50% of supplies present at a captured base are destroyed given the 15 supply hit's Bill's bombardment TF did on the turn Naga was captured but we will see...Bill is going to post his supply states for Naga before and after the base is captured.

Here is the supply status for Naga after I took it. I will post the turn after capture later since I forgot to capture the image.[:'(] I think it has over 7000 supply when I looked at the base on the turn following its capture.

LCU are moving very slow in the game or maybe it is just me. It has taken over 3 days for a division to move one hex over rail.

Looks like there was probably no loss of fuel due to any rule regarding loss due to capture as it only went down about 4000 but the fuel dump was hit 5 times this turn. Given the 15 supply hits, it does not look like any supply was lost when the base was captured either. This is only one example, but I suspect all will show the same...no supply (or fuel) is lost when a base is captured despite statements to the contrary. I want to see the supply states at Legaspi for the turn before and the turn including the bases capture to see how much, if any, supply was transferred and how it relates to the figure here.

Day Air attack on 51st/C Division, at 42,39 At Wuchow. This and the above attack on elements of the 104th Div provides another example of how the game mechanics further exascerbate the Uber CAP phenomenon. For some reason Gary G decided to code ground attacks so that the strike split comes before CAP so each strike package split (to target multiple LCUs and TFs) will be attacked by the same CAP (which does not have to suffer same split but can be in multiple areas simultaneously at full strenght) , thereby, through the mechanics, what would normally be coordinated strikes vs TFs or LCUs we get an uncoordination penalty.

Ground combat at Clark Field I really don't like the ZOC rules/effects in the current model. I'm being forced to abandon Clark Field to insure that all my units make it to Manila because if even one Japanese unit with 1 soldier enters Manila the Allied LCUs are stuck (ZOC really screws up retreat and LCU movement) Basically the modelassumes encirclement in every case. [:(]Land combat needed more than a secondary glance during the game's design. Unfortunately I think we are stuck with it.
