ONLINE Play - Can't Connect. HELP !

All...ANYONE ! I haven't played SPWAW in a couple years. A fiend and I are trying to connect via Cable/DSL and we can't get connected ! When we try to join one or the other receives the message: "Server at that address is not responding"

We both have v 8.4. Is this a firewall problem or what ? Since I know very little about Internet technicalities / security issues / connection issues / I'll leave it to someone out there who would be willing to guide me through getting this squared away.

Check ip number is correct, they do change sometimes.
Definitely turn off your firewall, they wreak havoc with SPWAW connections.

Broadband usually places you behind a firewall, NAT, or the such. Use whatismyip.com to get your true IP address.
