homan will be taken tomorrow
Ichang has half previous garrison
southern cities also has reduced garrisons
maybe chinase troops will decide to leave china ???
big UK offensive on Burma + attack from Yunan direction - who knows
looks like there will be big allied offensive in asia - hopefully I'm ready - invested a lot of supplies in fortifications in china front cities and bought few units from Kwantung army [:D]
I did not know my air offensive was as much successful
but looks like Raver spent lot of supplies on fortifications and rebuilding industry and troops supply is in red now

back to war !

Post by Sneer »

Dear readers daily aar combat reports seem to be published often
no more of quiet trench war
RAVER IS ON OFFENSIVE IN NORTH CHINA
target is in Kungchang as I expected - 38 units spotted noth of Sian
if he can take it and lanchow it would double his supply production
air fleet alerted
reinforcement on their way
Homan and Yenan troops alerted
additional supply sent from Home Islands
Kungchang is at fort 6 now and troops are prepped for guests Yenan at fort 9 as well as most of front bases
BTW looks like Palmyra is closed for few days - pity Tsugaru was too far away during my raid [:D]

Actually Sneer's targeting of Chinese oil and resources has been painfully effective. I am opening an offensive in China for economic reasons only[:(] I fear it is doomed to fail.

china area units will secure asia / burma / malaya - it will let me concentrate on holding India by Southern army and DEI/PI by newly created units
probably airforce will be bought out of HQ as well as all eng rgts and art units
I estimate I will have 25 free units beside of garrison duties - 10-15 will keep forts in china and 10 will go to mentioned locations - I will not attack russia in 43 - suicide for my industry

front news -calm - I try to bomb out sian as I estimate that any surplus supply is moved to this city

Guests expected in Kungchang in 2 days
assault in 3
I should have forts at 7 till that day
homan army in the field to prevent Raver from commiting too many troops to this attack
subs activity in central pac - I consider sending 2-3 hunter groups together with 1-2 spotting CS groups - of course all in Betty's range [;)] just to be secure from Raver's CV if he decides to hurt me a bit from precious assets
Raver uses railway from Lucknow to Bombay to move forces south India but I doubt he wants to test Jamshadpur direction
BTW where is "golden slipper " operation ?- over month has passed and I noticed nothing what could be offensive in nature
looks like after few early war counterattacks Raver is extremaly defense-oriented

usual air activity in china - over 400 sorties every day
troops entered empty Sian
chinase troops disappeared - trap ????
I thought about such possibility
if so I can withdraw to fort 3 Homan - now 38 units heading Kungchang are cut off
one more possibility is that there is no supply in chinase bases so cutting off this troops doesn't change anything
what would be a purpose of offensive?
take kungchang/lanchow free supply and live of land - chungking would be major defensive point of chinase defensive
BTW second DD that enetred minefield in previous week sunk during movement to PH

On the other hand I will not attack enemy that is cut off base - too costful for me - I'll blockade this force for 4-5 months and see what will be left willing to surrender

My sub captains complained about ASW TFs
short action just to keep Raver alerted - 2 DD survived damaged - sb will ask where are US CV
I guess that either in PH or in Brisbane what is totally unimportant now
Central Pac is not a safe place in 42 for allies - My two cents - why rush in early days for Central Pac if you rule there in mid 42 ???
Japanese power is reaching its peak now
Ichang taken - will be fortified together with Sian
If Raver will not enter Kungchang in 1-2 days I assume he tries to reach road Kungchang- Yenen moving cross-country - this would support my thesis that there is no supply in chinase bases and all supply is with his units on soldiers backs
by the time they reach road they will be 100% starved [:D] - welcome party is organized with 1.5k AP there and Kungchang units should be available too
soon ,I hope, weather will be good enough to bomb this formation out

Never argue with an idiot, he will only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

. . . Must . . . .resist . . . urge . . . to . . . challenge . . . sneer.

If only I had time for another game (or the games I have now). Sooner or later Sneer, I'll play the allies and you can try your singapore banzai move on me.

You've certainly given Raver a lot of bruises - enough that point wise he can't win the game. But Raver isn't about points - you'll all notice how well he took those opening hits (playing the surprise house rules as well?).

Sneer , I admit, the amount of utility you have got out of your CVs is admirable - especially the way your LBA and KB closed the SRA down on turn 1, however you have not landed any critical punches yet. My feeling is the KB pilots lost at PH are worth it if you can get 4 or more allied BBs. Especially if you can get an extra one with a sub as it limps back to the west coast. That is 4 very large AAA platforms that won't be protecting his invasion TFs later on.

Raver is very adept at luring idiot pilots out to attack floating AA fortresses - and for all the noise he his making on this AAR "woe is india, oh the pain, British Empire in ruins" etc. I can't help but feel he is secretly pleased you didn't invade northern Oz.

The Japs original strategy is equally true for Raver - you have to pick something that he CAN'T loose (because of pride or whatever) and make him fight for it to pin his CVs and BBs down into a fight.

Watching with interest.

he is too smart to enter battle in 42 cos he knows I can kick him hard
basicly everything else than full scale Oz invasion or PH landing would be enough
Once I almost caught his CV at Dutch Harbour - recon is sth I'm proud of
PH has much too high variability of results
most of my PBEM results were 1-2 with 70-80 planes lost and that's why I developed alternate strategy
AA platforms - sinking POW is worth alternate strategy
as far as points are concerned ... 5,5:1 but we don't have autovictory in mind
I just optimize my defensive plans - so nothing that's exposed to allies is not taken hard or attacked -- doesn't mean I don't want to hurt him more in 42
