Maybe a foolish question but are you flying recon missions over Valdivostok?

Also forts can reduce the effect of bombardment.

Finally the die roll effect in bombardment is pretty extreme compared to the fairly predictable results we get from air and ground combat, it might be bad luck.

Sorebaya has level 9 forts. I am bombarding with nine BBs(without Yamato) and his casulties was high(6000),AF destroyed...

I will try again,but in Russia many strange things happpened. Ghost aircrafts,aircrafts wont fly etc...

Tommorow is scheduled another bombardment of Vladivostok. AF in Vladivostok is closed and he fly only LRCAP with his useless Russian planes and lousy imperialist wildcats[;)]. First BB fleet will punch the shores and then air armada will be unleashed.
First group of 100 transport ships approach Port Arthur.Soon Russia fate will be sealed,i will have there 25 divisions,he cant repel that.

Just holding ground,he can do nothing and i cant do nothing.

Battleship fleet bombard again Vladivostok but with better results,they disabled almost 5000 men and some minor hits to supply and airfield. I did mistake today,i forget to set Zeros to sweep and my bombers hit a trap above Vladivostok,many of this aces wont make to bases[:@]. He manage to hit BB Fuso with torpedo,no big deal but she must go to shipyard.

Another bombard fleet is assembled. This time only fast ships included. Fuso and Yamashiro is sent to Hiroshima under heavy escort to do some repairs. Tomorrow,200000 troops of Southern area army will start disembark in Port Arthur. First retrained Zeros are moved to home islands for upcoming air offensive.
All other fronts are quiet,but not for long[;)].
Baby KB encounter lone AK just south of Petropavlovsk,AK is promptly sunk[:D].

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/21/42

Another good result in bombardment. Bombardment fleet was at sea and during the night urgent message was received by admiral Tanaka. Message says that target is changed and Nahodka should be bombarded,that is because recons planes brought photos of many planes in Nahodka airport. Tanaka quickly change the course and bombard Nahodka destroying many planes on ground and closing airfield. Allied subs tried to threaten my fleet but they was quickly dispersed by destroyers on escort.SS Gato is badly hit and she probably sink. Fleet retreating to Genzan for refueling. Next night will strike again.
Six divisions of Southern area army along with tank,engineer,support units disembark in Port Arthur and tomorrow will march to Harbin,other group of 100 ships approaching Port Arthur and in 3 days they will unload their cargo.

Day of small victories.
Two battleship fleet assembled at Genzan for upcoming bombardment of Russia. First have two BB's(Hiei,Haruna),6 CA's,3 CLs,10 DDs.
Second fleet have 5 BB's leading by Yamato and 18 DDs. Vladivostok will be leveled.
He try to train some aircobras south of Nanchang,but days of piece full training above China is over because elite retrained Zero daitais swarming the skies of China.

RUSSIA

Two bombardment fleet approaching shores of Russia and next night hell will unleash again. My bombers resting and reffiting but Zeros can go in battle again. I manage to retrain five zero daitai to 80 exp. Southern area army(1.contingent) marching across Russia to Harbin,i cant wait to hit him with 28 divisions.

CHINA

He start bombarding attacks in Canton probably to see what i have there. I still have 2500 APs in Canton,maybe thats enough to convince him that i will try to attack in China. But i am not count on that.
Training missions of allied bombers almost completely stop,probably because of dreaded Zero pilots[:D].

PACIFIC

I am making some regrouping in this area.

These results are why I don't support the nerf shore bombardment people. Shore bombardment has a very wide range of possible results from huge to practically nothing and that seems to reflect the actual war. It may be one of the few things that works right in the game, wouldn't that be ironic.

i agree -bombardments are fine -some work -some do not!

half the fun of this game is trying to organise them -and balancing potential results to possible losses -you might win, or for a lousy couple of planes, you may lose a BB or -even 2 (like i just did)

I am back online after my internet provider decide to fix my connection(DSL modem burn).

Some thoughts about Russia:

After SAA disembarks i will have 28 divisions in Russia. Because of bad timing(Jawa) i am very afraid of Russia. Reason,he can bombard my industry in Japan from there. I must make quick victory in Russia and release troops of SAA for other fronts.
I am playing very risky,in my point of view that is only way to play with Japanese. I am also counting on "special war"-show my forces everywhere,run arround with KB to scary him and i must say that my "special war" gives better results than front results.
Whenever zero shows his AC runs away,if anything that looks like KB shows he runs away.
The truth is,i am weak on several fronts and i am depending on LBA to protect my gainings,KB is in Japan,resting refiting.
If he attacks now my whole front is in great danger,but if he wait for two months he will be in bad position-very bad.
Its a gamble,but it is only way to win this war.

PRODUCTION

I lost 1200 Zeros till now,but pool are full(268 pc.),i stop production of vals and kates. Zeros are almost retrained(75-80 exp.) He has strategic advantage but he is not use it,in 15 days that will change and hordes of zeros will fly again.

He made a big mistake,last month not a single zero daitai was in Japan. He didnt attack industry there(because of scary factor)and now he cant(because of Zero factor). In two weeks troops of SAA will be in position for final attack on Russia and nothing can stop me there.

P.S.When i finnish with Russia troops of Kwantung area army will march to China without paying PPs because Russia will be crushed so this house rule will be discarded. I think that is logical
