23rd May 1942.......

Not much to report today...... except that I lost 16,000 men in a frontal attack on Yenen......having in other PBEMs recreated Midway and the great marianas turkey shoot......I continue my great disaster series with Pickett's charge.......if Tom doesn't counter and push me back from Yenen......I'll flank to the north...and join my forces at Sinning......time consuming....but not troop consuming.......
Elsewhere Scott has invested Palambang....two Aussie brigades + some Dutch.....so a bit of a fight on his hands......
Lew is finishing off the last remaining troops in the Phils......

SEND MORE MEN....I'M RUNNING OUT.[X(]

Well, i see you at least have plenty of landing craft....

Operation Oil is underway. The 18th Division is on their way to Palembang. They willbe supported with the 23rd Mixed Brdg and a coupleof support units. The Allies have landed more troops and it looks to be more bloody than first planned.

Don't let their cuddly exterior fool you... Koalas are quite vicious. Unfortunately, their biggest defence mechanism is having a heart attack and falling over dead if you touch them.

31st May 1942

It looks as though Tom is pulling out of Wuchow....I'm launching a deliberate attack next turn...as I did this turn.....0-1 but not much in the way of casualties.......4,000 of mine to 2,500 of his......I hope to catch him on the move.....if he lacks supply and can't shift my holding force on the crossroads...these troops are doomed..........As will be much of southern China.........

Tom has pulled out of Wuchow.....and surprised me once again by crossing the river to threaten Nanning/Hanoi.....and at the risk of showing my complete lack of knowledge....I didn't know you could cross the river there.....he has 6 units across another 18 just North of Wuchow that may cross or wait to see what I'm going to do next....

Nanning defended by 1 base force
Hanoi defended by 2 base forces
I've sent my tanks (4 Bgds) to Nanning will hopefully get there before him followed by 2 Divs.....the rest of the Wuchow army Is heading North......to join the troops at the crossroads and march on Kweiyang.....
Hanoi is on it's own .......no troops available to me to protect...

So Tom may take China south of the River...while I take Kweiyang and move north.......

At least China is never dull.............
