After CoG, where to next?

Post by Fänrik Stål »

Just a thought I had. This game engine would lend itself well to simulation of other great conflicts, personally I'd love to see the Thirty Years War for example. Are there any plans to go further with this engine?

Personally, I love the time period. I'd just love to see this map expanded to include colonial concerns more dramatically. Imagine running England if you had to divert ships to North America, or India. Spain and Portugal could conceivably compete again....

One other thing. I'd love to see market prices adjust to demand. As of now, there's just no point to stockpiling resources unless you go to war. Everything's worth (basically) a buck. Doesn't matter if EVERYONE needs spices and only Turkey has em. Or luxuries that only England has.

Tie those up, make detailed naval battles possible, and I'd be a quivering wreck of a man (and doubtless single)...[&o]

Thirty Year's War would be great. A much-ignored time period, even back in the days of board wargames. Anything from around 1450 to 1850 would be fine, and make an interesting contrast to EU.

And yeah, more detailed naval battles. I second that emotion.

Just my thoughts..
I would like to thanks you guys for making this game, at this time I've been playing for a week stright and "The Wife" is ready to leave me...LOL Thanks again it's great FUN!
I was wondering if you guys(Matrix Games) have given any thought to a War of the States(US Civil War)Version of this game?
You could maybe take out the spice and add coal also less wool and more cotton? Just a thought...
Maybe a Naval map in stead of quick battle at sea? With all the Blockcade running and yea the Ironclads, MerchantRaiders of the south.Maybe?
You might need a 1 time capital move.I mean at the 1st Battle of Bull Run the South could have walked right into Washington D.C.
then England and France would have came to The Souths side openly and game over....But its just a Thought or daydream.........
Thanks for the FUN!
