Basic help, please

Post by ken.mccall »

I purchased this game shortly after it debuted and I still haven't figured it out. I've reviewed the tutorials, read threads on the forum, and read the rulebook. I'm just not intelligent enough to figure out how to interface with the program (game). Do you have any other tutorials or any step by step instructions that would help me. Thank you.

I think once on-line play is functional your best bet to learn the game is by example. Have an experienced player teach you the ropes by talking you through your turns using Skype. Skype is a free program that allows you to speak over the internet. All you need is a headset with a mic. If you got one then all you need to do is find an opponent who also uses Skype. You can post in the opponents wanted section.

If you download the 1.087 public beta version, you should be able to try out online play. I agree that Skype is a great way to play online (we did it in testing).

I like teamspeak and ventrilo.

Anywho... um to learn to play. Well being talked through as they suggest is a great way. Another way is to make the game as easy as possible and make it progressively harder. Start with no supplies to understand how fighting, research, and production works. Then basic supplies to factor that into your game play... so on so forth. You might want to try that, and maybe even give yourself some extra boosts and slowly lower them as well.
