Traffic bottleneck:auto convoy

Post by m10bob »

I use Andrew Brown's extended map and CHS exclusively, and about 5 weeks ago upgraded to the new beta patch, with no problems since.
I have experienced a new problem,(as of last night) which I have never seen before.
At the very bottom of the "spaghetti curves" leading away from Aden/Middle East I noticed a convoy did not seem to be moving. Since this corridor is constantly in use, it has never been noticeable before, but this time, I mouse clicked and the detail of that hex showed approx 20(!) auto convoys, each with anywhere from 1 to 7 ships per, all were out-bound, and all showed a destination of hex 114.72, and at least some were bound to "refuel at Pearl"(but not all IIRC..)
I manually have gone in and released at least half of them from auto-convoy, and have given manual orders to see what happens.
I know some of you do not ever use auto-convoy, but honestly this is the 1st time I have really had any problems, (since learning how to "create" my own waypoints).
Just wanted to present this situation in case its' not been noticed before.
BTW, there have been NO changes to my map in months.

UPDATE: Over the next 10-15 turns, I manually went in and started sending those convoys on their way, individually, to different locations.
As I did so, "stuck" units which I had not yet touched remained at that one spot in the lower end of the "spaghetti curve" coming out of the Middle East.
Rather than congested traffic, I suspect this was the result of a localized electric glitch at my home.
(I have a surge protector, but even a little static can cause problems, and my wife keeps unusual animals.)
Currently, there is a 130 Lb Grey timber wolf sleeping on the floor behind me!
He has adopted my wifes' cats as his "babies".............
He eats MY hot dogs ![:@]

UPDATE: It is now 11/18/43 and all of those stuck convoys are moving on their merry way. I had to give them each fresh orders, but they are on their way.
I am gonna guess the block happened when I put in the beta patch, but this did not "cause" the glitch, my theory being that it had affected part of the "non-vanilla" map and the ships within.
