Possible database error YAK-1

Post by TheElf »

Not sure. Been looking around for the answer but I noticed this discrepancy in the Database while doing Russian Planetops. Could very well be correct though...

YAK-1 Cruise: 149 Top: 360
YAK-3 Cruise: 300 Top: 407
YAK-9 Cruise: 240 Top: 374

That's quite a drop in Cruise speed, particularly the Delta between the YAK-9 and YAK-1 considering there similarity. Anyone know if this is correct? I would expect the YAK-1s Cruise to be somewhere between 220-240...

I have found some errors in the Allied aircraft database. I have included the Soviet aircraft (and added a PBY variation - PBN - to it). But I have not yet doen the YAK-1. I have learned to check every field - just in case. It will be right.

I intend to release a device file and aircraft file and air group file as a single package for anyone interested in them. The problem is you need to lift the aircraft devices out of the device file and put them into yours - unless you wait for my ship and location files. But there are not many aircraft devices. But you will be able to use the plane sets if you want - and I regard that as a way to get broader testing done.

There were two early production versions of the Yak-1. The earliest ones were overweight and underpowered, so a lightened version was quickly developed. Maybe the data for the Yak-1 was taken from this first version? Or maybe it's a typo?
