I take a zennish view of this sort of thing... If somebody doesn't want to have anything other than stock, then that's up to him. His choice, just like it's my choice to have all the mod stuff I'm using.

And I have no problem with that. Its the "What do you mean you're not using X?" and "Well, you obviously aren't serious about this if you're not playing scenarion Y" reactions that bother me.
This game does not have a learning curve. It has a learning cliff.

I could care less that someone chooses not to use my art. Really. If they never look at the replays I can understand. But to say the stock graphics are good enough is...well I can't find the words...

Check the Hudson, please; it looks a little fuzzy in the latest versions. Also, the Avenger I might be a little off. And have you re-done the Boomerang or is it stock? It looks a little large.

This is all true. I have fixed these. Not sure if they are in the latest release. If not they'll be in the next one.

None of the above, I play with the stock graphics only - they're plenty good enough for me.

You've got to be kidding...

Nope. Graphics I can more-or-less ignore. I hardly ever watch the battles in any case. Representation is all I'm after - A BB is a BB is a BB, a CV is a CV... you get my drift. The graphics simply don't affect gameplay at all, and that's what interests me:

Map: Good enough although I'd prefer it if the graphic map corresponded to the gameplay map. But it's not enough of a problem to make me d/l any other.

Icons: I think there are too many already, there should be one generic icon for all opposing task forces.

Ship/Plane/Ground unit pictures: Largely unnecessary drain on system resources.

Replay graphics: Not relevant, as I ignore the replay.

Info screen stuff and such: You're kidding, right? A clearer font for the displays would be nice, but the last thing I want is more distracting clutter.

Sorry, I really, really do find the stock game graphics more than enough.
I'd point out as well that the video and sound directories are removed from my game as well. I can make all the "Bang, Bang!" noises I want myself, if I ever find it necessary.

Now, I don't want anyone to think that I don't think others should adapt their game to use sound, graphics or indeed video that's new. I can appreciate the artistry, effort and skill that go into these, without actually desiring to use them. A bit like my appreciation for Rap music... [;)]

There is one set of downloads you may want to try steveh that replace combat, operations reports with smaller overlays so you can see more of the map when looking at the reports. The artist removed the art work and just left the clipboard art to display the report. Should be able to find them at spookies

Hmmm, I use your Tigercat and Bearcat tops in my mod as well, and they look good enough. Not knackered, like Alikchis, that's for sure...

Alikchi,
I figured out why your F8F and F7F were Knackered. Your IS2 Alpha file did not have alphas for either aircraft. I have fixed this and will send you an updated file. However I am going to wait til I've added the Sea Wolf, the new Russian aircraft, and made some other minor tweaks.

Thanks for the info, Skyros, but I'll pass - another consideration which I failed to state above is that the game has enough hiccups without adding non-standard stuff in. I change database material already, adding other potential faults would be folly! [:)]

But "Ta!" anyway,

I've used everything you've published I think (except I've found it impossible to download your latest stuff from the link provided by someone over on the Andrew Borwn CHS map thread). I presume you're gearing up from Sid's work with the RHS as well. (A woman's work is never done? [;)])
