Has Russia been activated already so that he can move about??
This should be interesting as it is later in the game then most Russian assaults. He should be dug in at level 9 at all spots and might be able to put up a good fight.
My invasions were with 25 divisions in late dec 41 and Russia could not move until I attacked. Having their forces activated and dug in should be worth more then 3 divisions so you're task may be difficult.

Russia is activated and some bloody air battle occur already. He dug in Vladivostok. With 28 divisions i will kick him out to Alaska[8D].

Moses, these guys played a house rule that allowed GH 30 days notice before the Japanese attack went in, so GH had good amount of time to prepare.

With 30 days to prepare I would think Russia would have shifted forces away from Vladavostock to the center so that with the center solid he will not have large numbers of forces cut off and captured. If he does this it will be a long and costly war for Japan.
The first couple months would have Japan capturing the area around Vladavostock and Russia fighting a delaying action in that area while holding everywhere else. But I think after a couple months Japan will be halted.
With 28 divisions he must have taken a lot from China and southern area Army.[X(]

Actually,almost whole SAA is in Russia[8D],not a single chinese unit is here

I think the strategy is sound, if he takes out Russia then he has tons of victory points and a huge army to play with.
Exicution is everything, both Hawkers attack and Hoepners defense and efforts to counter attack elsewhere. I was a little bit dissapointed that Mogami never went for Russia in the lunacy game so this is a vicarious thrill for me.

Few thoughts about industry:
-I am not expand any of naval shipyards,Shinano is stopped from start and i will stop RO subs.Also,CV scheduled to come in 1945 will be stopped. I was thinking of stoping Musashi but i like big ships[;)]. With these changes i will be able to accelerate Taiho and other CVs without expanding anything. I hope to get Taiho few months earlier. Too bad i cant order my shipyards to produce 5-6 Shokaku class CVs[;)].
-Merchant shipyards i will not change-TK is essential later in war.
AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION
-Zeros is on 200+ pcs. per month-just enough.
-Pool of Sallys is low because of extended bombardment attacks since start of war,i will expand one factory. Not a single Lily is not PDU transfered to Sally. This PDU thing is a bit gamey.
-Production of Vals,Kates,Bettys is halted.
-Only aircrafts still in production is Zeros,Sallys,Emilys,some transports,all others are halted beause i have enough of everything
-A6M3 is on 72 pcs per month-enough because A6M2 goes to A6M3a and i am not converting anything to A6M3.
-Not a single Nate is convert to Oscar

Another bombardment with two BB task force and again bad results,GH probably pull out rear troops but i score no hit to AF and port. However i will continue to bombard.
Operation "Horse jump" going well and second portion of SAA is disembark in Port Arthur. These units now march to Harbin for final attack on Vladivostok.
I count my forces in Russia which are going to offensive,i will have 1 250 000 men. That will crush Russia and ensure huge amount of VP for me.
My generals gain orders to develop plan for invasion on Petropavlovsk,this invasion gain priority because from Petropavlovsk i will control Kurilies. Troops start to gather in Tokyo for that push.
GH continue to bombard Mutankiang with hundreds of bombers with low use,he cannot achieve any good result.
CHINA
Status quo continue,he cant lunch offensive and i take defensive posture till Russia offensive is finished. Transports going to Canton to pick units for invasion on Petropavlovsk.

Again status quo,two brigades soon will arrive in Rahaeng to seal the front. I dont plan any major offensive here.
JAPAN

Battleship fleet lead by rear admiral Tanaka whose flag is on the battleship Yamato leave Seikoshin to another bombardment run[;)].
Allied subs intercept this TF but 18 DDs in escort quickly disperse these menace. SS Grampus is hit with two depth charges and probably will sink tommorow. While battleships is on route i decide to bombard Vladivostok with 300 bombers. First came zeros to sweep the sky but no allied fighter reported,the sallys bombard AF,AF is closed with 100 damage[8D]. BB will came tommorow in visit.[;)].
Troops are marching to Harbin and soon Russia will be ours.
General Yamashita develops plan to encircle Vladivostok and destroy troops there,Russians has approx. 300000 men here are sentence to death[;)].

I run a little test here. I decide to sweep Wuchov from Canton with zero daitai at exp. 68 and again sweep from Nanchang with zeros at exp. 82.
Group with less experience from Canton destroys 7 I-16c and lost 3 zeros. Group from Nanchang destroys 9 I-16c and lost 1 zero in procces. These I-16c are good for my tests[:D][:D]
SUMATRA
Airfield at Sabang is big enough for my Bettys now and cargo ships approaching the port. Tomorrow 27 Bettys will stationed there along with zero daitai to prevent shiping in Bengal bay.
Sumatra is also main training ground,hundreds aircraft train daily here and bombard villiges to gain experience[:D].

With this numbers CV Taiho will come in may 1943 but i am not sure yet. Musashi is scheduled to come in 4 months.

Troops of SAA is still approaching attack positions north of Vladivostok but order for attack is gained. 20 divisions of Kwantung area will move east to destroy Russian position NE of Vladivostok,enemy has 22 units here according to recon.
Other troops(8 divisions) will enter Vladivostok. Idea is to encircle and destroy units at Vladivostok and Nahodka,maybe 300000 troops and move inland to Russia. Russia invasion timeline is till the end of year,after that all units will move and crush China. Invasion fleet for Petropavlovsk leave Canton. With Petropavlovsk i will have good position for defending Kurilies.
Today,regular BB bombardment of Vladivostok occur with mediocre succes. Bombers are resting in their bases today

Taking Russia is good ot even very good solution - the only one which I find of similar usefulness is east india grabbing
I'm slightly surprised allied did not start strategic bombing of home island - you can defend everything there and at this moment Japan's supply situation is worst until deep '44

I count on KB and LBA to defend Pacific. I have also 2nd division and SSD in SW pacific. Also 9 carriers with elite pilots will stop any invasion there. Only real weak point is Marshalls,but if i loose Marshalls there is only few points for allies,so no big problem.
With Russia i have new oil and resource centers along with huge amount of VPs. With Russia in my hands i can throw all Kwantung area army on China. Okha base has plenty of oil and it will be safe long after DEI is treatened.

Troops of Kwantung area army continue marching to NE of Vladivostok,in 5-7 days my brave soldiers will attack this Russian stronghold.
Sauthern area army gathering north of Vladivostok and soon they will be ready to enter the town. This attack will occur when Kwantung troops reach allied position NE.
Last part of Kwantung area army (3 divisions and support units) waiting W of Vladivostok. These units will enter town along with units of SAA. I cant wait!![;)]
Operation "Devil"
100 transport ships is arround Kagoshima,after they reach Tokyo these ships will randesvous with cargo ships which carrying supplys and KB. Then-direction Petropavlovsk!
Operation "Phantom"
Large scale air operation in Russia. Almost all Sally/Lilly sentai is assign to this operation. Escort will provide 300 zeros gathering in Japan. Destruction of Russia will soon begin!
He hits today my heavy industry in Harbin,but no big deal,Komsomolsk has 880 HI according to recon and Okha has 400-500 oil points,huge amount to replace deastroyed HI and future oil.

Recon says TKs but i think that is APs with troops. Bettys from Rabaul,Lunga and PM are in full alert,100 more Bettys came today in Rabaul,i must hold off any invasion until KB is engaged in Operation "Devil".
Six subs move to intercept these ships.

RUSSIA
Operation "Horse jump"
Troops of Kwantung area army continue marching to NE of Vladivostok,in 5-7 days my brave soldiers will attack this Russian stronghold.
Sauthern area army gathering north of Vladivostok and soon they will be ready to enter the town. This attack will occur when Kwantung troops reach allied position NE.
Last part of Kwantung area army (3 divisions and support units) waiting W of Vladivostok. These units will enter town along with units of SAA. I cant wait!![;)]
Operation "Devil"
100 transport ships is arround Kagoshima,after they reach Tokyo these ships will randesvous with cargo ships which carrying supplys and KB. Then-direction Petropavlovsk!
Operation "Phantom"
Large scale air operation in Russia. Almost all Sally/Lilly sentai is assign to this operation. Escort will provide 300 zeros gathering in Japan. Destruction of Russia will soon begin!
He hits today my heavy industry in Harbin,but no big deal,Komsomolsk has 880 HI according to recon and Okha has 400-500 oil points,huge amount to replace deastroyed HI and future oil.

RUSSIA
Troops of Kwantung area army are 22 miles from enemy strongpoint NE of Vladivostok,everything is ready for destroying Vladivostok. This is his last chance to pull back,othervise his troops will be destroyed. Divisions of Southern area army waiting final command to lunch their part of operation "Horse jump".
Operation "Phantom" begin today with huge raid of Khabarovsk. I manage to destroy 200 planes and lost 140 in procces,airfield is badly damage according to recon.
Operation "Devil" is also rolling transport ships made randesvouz with cargo ships(fuel and supply)south of Tokyo and head for Petropavlovsk. KB will accompany them.
Usual bombarding of Vladivostok and usual bad results[:(]

He manage to push my units from Moulmein,i am retreating to Rahaeng. These divisions will have to recuperate. With so much troops involved in Russia operation i must do what i can before Russia campaign is over.

Huge group of troops is spotted moving to Nanchang,i promptly sent 3 divisions NW of nanchang to treat his flanks.
Bad times coming.
JAPAN
KB is formed in Tokyo,11 aircraft carriers with 600+ aircraft.
Rear admiral Yamaguchi is comand in chief,his flagship is Zuikaku. Vice-admiral Nagumo has 3 carriers and his flag is on Kaga. Vice.admiral Teraoka commands the last CV fleet.
150000 fuel points is sent to Kwaielien which will be main base for KB.
