Carnifex What Did You Do?!

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Carnifex What Did You Do?!

Post by TheOx »

I d'l'ed Carnifex's Custom 1792 mod and started up a new game as the UK as a trial run. I make some treaties, hang out a bit, make some money, don;t involve myself with thios war on the Continent, I mean Hell, I've never seen France beat the combined forces of Prussia and Austria early in the 1792 campaign. WRONG! Austria surrenders, Prussia surrenders, France is marching on Moscow after grabbing Poland as a protectorate! *Twilight Zone music here* I invade France and siege Paris, I fight off armies of 55k and 44k, but the situation is precarious! What is in that mod, Gallic anabolic steroids? [:D][:D]

Love the mod Carnifex, thanks [:)]

PS: After a few turns, the colors get a little screwy for the UK and Spain, looks as though they've been washed too many times. Is that a CoG glitch or specific to the mod?

Oh Snap! I forgot it was still in there. First of all, I last updated those files several patches ago, so they might conflict with whatever updated version you are running now. I was planning on making a final version, but I'm lazy and wanted to wait until the patching process quieted down so I wouldn't have to update the files each time. I'll probably update it after this next patch is released (the full real patch, not the beta 1.2.xx version that is out now).

That might be why the colors are screwy - those values are in the players2.txt file. You might want to copy the Red, Green, and Blue columns from a newer players2.txt file to the modded one.

As for why France is doing better, it might be because of several factors.

1792 France begins with a lower army morale than 1805 France. I raised it slightly to account for longer play (since if you play past 1805 your army morale won't be magically boosted at that date).

1792 France has a smaller army size (how may units can fit inside) than 1805 France. Raised it slightly for same reason as above.

In my mod, the 1792 French get Napoleon (not right away).
