Feature requests

Post by wodin »

I know its to late for this gmae but for future releases how about............

How about being informed when a unit loses all its tanks. This is quite important with certain units.

Also if a unit is low on ammo or basics or fuel.

All these messages are ones I could do with.

Another point is if somehow the anti tank and anti inf power of each unit could be simplified somehow. Keep the figures but low, medium, high, very high would be quicker to work out.

Also an expanded AAR which gives a rundown on the casualties each unit caused. Also a quick one word address on how each unit performed.

Finally how about when a unit digs in across the unit length and depth fox holes could appear. When it goes to the next level a trench could appear. You would then know the areas that already have pre dug systems and so could take the foxhole/trench system during the game. I know the game takes advantage of this but to see exactly where the vacated system is would be fantastic. Even at this scale trench systems would be seen just look at the aireal photos of WW1.

in HttR, the units are not mixed, so a tank unit would strictly be composed of tanks and infantry units wouldn't have tanks or assault guns in their ranks. In recon units, though where ultra-light recon tanks are used in addition to infantry, I really am not sure if it could be useful as light tanks aren't the most powerful. Maybe to know the mobility left in the unit though.

I guess a color code in the side unit info panel TOE would be useful, like a line flashing red when it's getting critical.

I also think that a color code in the side unit info panel anti-... values could do the trick. From red to green, but those things are already covered in the unit box by clicking on the F... key.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Haven't got a lot of time right now but things like the supply warnings are dealt with in COTA. Others added to TaskTracker ( TT ) our database of things to do.

TT2820 - UI - AI - Dynamic Terrain - Overlay Graphic for entrenchments
TT2821 - UI - AI - End Game AAR - Expanded stats on each units performance

Oh and re

The trouble with this is it's all relative. In one scenario set in 1942 a Pz MkIII should have a High rating but by 1944 it should be a low rating. This is not something that is easy to resolve.

wodin,

The TT#### refers to an entry in our Task Tracker database, which is basically a list of things to do. It currently stands at 2824 items of which 592 are outstanding. FYI we have closed 615 items for COTA. That will probably grow to 640 by release. [:)]
