2ndAcr vs Rob...Divine Intervention Denied

Post by 2ndACR »

I decided to start my own version of Rob's AAR. This will be off limits to Rob (except for speed posts by him).

The war is already well advanced. I am not the best AAR writer and work/life gets in the way alot, but I will try to post what I can and such. Bear with me. I am trying alot of new tactics and such in this game. Some have worked, some not so well.

I attacked PH on Turn 1 with horrible results. Not a single ship was sunk.[:@] I then split off 2 CV's and the tanker fleet to lie in wait for Rob to move his damaged ships back to the West Coast. So far, I have managed to just beat up on some DD's. Then my subs spotted his convoys moving along the map edge, and the chase was on.

My CV's tripped over some DD's and beat up on them and Rob began running for the West Coast with his convoys. I did not want to risk getting too close, so pulled back and waited. Finally, he came back out. This is what I caught.

Day Air attack on TF at 137,73

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 10
D3A Val x 22
B5N Kate x 48

Japanese aircraft losses
D3A Val: 1 damaged
B5N Kate: 5 damaged

Allied Ships
AVD Ballard, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
AK Jacob Luckenbach, Bomb hits 2, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage
AK Honomu, Bomb hits 3, on fire, heavy damage
TK Larry Doheny, Bomb hits 2, on fire
AK Steel Ranger, Torpedo hits 1, on fire
AK Absaroka, Torpedo hits 4, on fire, heavy damage
AK Vincent, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
AK Minnesotan, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage
AK Chickasaw City, Torpedo hits 1, on fire
AK Admiral Y. Williams

There are still ships afloat and another convoy just south of this one. I am going to go after the one to the south and see what I can hit. There is also another convoy up north of me, but I do not think I can get to it before Rob pulls it back to the West Coast. I will only be able to stay a few days more, then will have to pull back due to ammo for my CV's. Can not allow them to run dry. I have no clue where his CV's are.

I was hoping that this convoy would have the 2nd Marine afloat in it. Nothing better than to sink the division at sea.

I am very honest. Except where communicating with my opponent is concerned. After all the crushing defeats the Allies suffer, they have to resort to propaganda to make themselves feel better.[:-]
