Nice thing about allied CV's is the number of ops points I can pound and pound and pound !!!!

My plan is to bring in the other 2 Divisions by forced entry assault in about a week backed by several BB TF's bombarding and CV and LBA pounding.

The disruption will be lower and my forces will hopefully mop up the enemy easily

A few strikes.

My 2nd wave is loading and I am getting ready to try to land them.

I am dispersing my carrier TF's to try and hit multiple Ground units (testign a theory) I wil regather them all in a day.

it has been suggested by a few peoiple that it is ahistoric to put 150k men on an atoll.

Can I say I agree !!!

But my position on this is with lvl 9 forts everywhere very minor units can hold up my advance to an unnacceptable level so any stacking limits would actually benefit the Japanese more than me so I dont want to ask for a house rule at moment.

(Come on lvl 9 forts on Kwal thats crazy !!!!)

I just think the level of forts everywhere I need to go is always going to be an issue for any allied player in this phase as every Japanese player will ahistorically increase foirt levels beyond historic and beyond what I feel is credible.

Ergo stacking limits allowing the Japanese to disperse even more resting thewre defence on lvl 9 forts works against the allies.

Resting today while the second wave closes and my BB's and a CV TF raid Entiwock the rest are staying to cover the invasions

I wish the US had a few more Combat Engineer Regts I could use a few more to help knock those forts down.

I am actually tempted to turn 33 and 24 Div back and get them prepping for Entiwock as the forces on Kwal may be enough on there own

My raid on Kwal was a total success destroying 60+ on the ground and destroying some ships and barges!!!!

Nice turns when they happen.

I am worried because I had no idea the ships were there.

I am being very free with my CV TF's on the assumption that I will see him coming (I think his CV's are still in island group west of Marianas) I am no longer confident of that assertion so I am going to play it safe and re consolidate.

I still have bad memories of the Battle of Canton versus String where the reaction was very powerfull (or kavieng in this game where PZB got 50,000 men ashore and I could do nothing)

Re my reinforcements I have decided to send in one Divison and hold the second for Entiwock

Disruption 50% so another day or 2 before I attack again

Mass and Maryland need another month of yard time and in 27 days I get Iowa and New Jersey....

The allies just keep getting stronger I just need to avoid heavy losses.

With those 4 in action

I will have 2 Modern BB's/ 5 Semi Modern and 4 old BB's for my bombardment TF's not to shabby.

I just need to keep em all afloat and in action.

Someone want to tell me what to do !!!

Lvl 9 forts on Atolls make it bloody difficult to take them even when its crap units defending ;(

I would kill for half a dozen combat engineer regiments.

Pity Seabees dont act as combat engineers. Complete air and sea superiority 24/7 bombardments/ fully trained prepped troops and I cant even knok the forts down ah well it is making me really consider my options for the next leap forward.

I don't recall exactly what you have there - but armor is useful.

Keeping bombing and bombarding the bases - not the troops. Base attacks disrupts him and destroys supplies. It looks like you've already knocked out close to half of his effective troops (he started with almost 38000 effectives, now down to 21700). It's pretty amazing how fast supplies can go when someone is conducting heavy naval and air bombardments. Keep an eye on his repair of the bases - if it stops repairing, you know he is pretty much out of goodies. CAP the hex if not already done.

If you don't have everyone prepping for Kwal, do so!

Put in a good Corp commander (i assume a Corp HQ is on the beach - if not, get one in if you can).

Once he is out of supply - that's all she wrote.

EDIT: PS - where ARE your engineering regiments? Are they all gone??

Thanks I have 4 Regts with over 200 tanks on the island. All units are 100% prepped for Kwal A Corps HQ is ashore with the best leader I could find in command

Re Engineers.

The allies get 6 Combat Engineer Regts total.

3 of those are Indian and are dead (with the pathetic replacement rate for Indian Combat Engineers they are useless anywat)

Other 3 are US. 1 was destroyed on Java I believe the other 2 are n Maloep.

Basically I have a total of 2 Regts both already committed.

Aye but grinding away wears down my Divisions ah well so be it !!!! 4 naval guard units hold up 3 Inf/ 1 Marine Divs and 200 tanks.

Actually I think I may have realised my mistake.

I dont have a Command HQ in range prepped for Kwal (a bad oversight) I have a 100% Assault HQ on an AGC but I am not sure they count as command HQ's.

If this is what he can do to me on Kwal what could he do on Saipan......[:D]

A new bold plan is starting to form nothing that will impact on my actions for next 6 months but perhaps when I am at full strength and have assault capacity for 10 Divs I may have a new cunning plan !!!!

Hmmmm Bypass Marianas/ Iwo and PI and hit Okinawa/ Hokkaido or Formosa direct covered by 15 Fleet CV's/ 10 CVL's/ 60+ CVE's etc etc using AP's/ AK's as well as my LST's would allow me to land c 1 million men with c 200k in assault mode in one powerfull co ordinated invasion

If he is going to forward deploy to stop me in the inner defensive perimeter well sod it I will just bypass the whole dammed thing !!!

As I said I will clear the marshalls/ attack Timor/ advance up NG anyway to position myself but this is a real option to consider.

Thats fine 2 years of prep but did the japanese really have the capability to turn every single atoll into this kind of fortress. I really think forts should be less capable on small atolls.

But I play the game as is and will persevere

The Okinawa/Formosa plan IS bold and good. But you had better organize one hell of a fleet train for it because you're going to have to escort every single one of your transport convoys with your carriers. I'd suggest targeting a base with a combined port/af of 10 or more, so you can unload supplies and fuel freely without worrying about spoilage.
