Hey Mr Comedy!

Doing fine. Been teaching now for two years. Time sure flies eh. Do you still own that bar and what's up otherwise with you?

Cheers
Dan

Sounds good and yes it does! Yeah I do but am selling out to my partners...we don't see eye to eye so to speak. I'm odd man out so I'm selling and heading to the Greek Island of Zakynthos to live. We'll be veritable neighbors. Lots of Swedes head there I hear, to Alykes (a beach resort on the island) I think.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 04/15/42

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night Time Surface Combat at 64,115

And another mid ocean intercept. I'm getting good at this. Pretty easy to do vs damaged tranports I suppose though. The Australian and New Zealand Navies has been shouldering much of the defensive duties at New Caledonia. (Le Triomphant has been as well but heck, it is FRENCH territory after all....thankfully the histoically ungrateful and pompous attitude displayed by the French authorities is not modelled, and given the logistics model, I won't have to worry about a New Zealander longshoreman strike either)[8D]

Sub attack at 65,119 This was bloody scary! Had the Big E lined up with 4 Long Lances but missed. Don't forget, we have Allied Damage Control toggled OFF in this game as I feel that the progressive flood damage model is Draconian and the Japanese are too severely judged as idiots who can't deal with flood damage when historically they could. Just have to convert alot more AKs to ARs.

If it had been in a base hex, this would have lasted only 1 day. Something is not working as the design intended.

The only thing that is a little bothersome in this game is the way Manila and Singapore are hanging on. I have not really spotted any transports moving toward Manila but have sunk a few heading to Singapore. My supply is good for my troops fatigue is low to medium and disruption is low. I am going to keep the siege going and continue operations elsewhere.

I don't use ASW air search for two reasons, I think it is overkill vs subs as modelled, and I have a funny feeling it does not work very well vs surface ships. (just a feeling, as really, during this time frame, the only thing different between an ASW mission and a normal search would be armament)

I'm pretty happy with the way the two bases are lingering as well![;)] Single ship TFs some view as gamey, I don't. Less chance for aircraft detection but increaseed vulnerability to subs. Was practiced historically innumerable times, malta being a prime example. I've always got fighters flying CAP over any supply ship as well...negates many unescorted strikes. Singapore is quite strong now, going to be hard to crack without a massive troop influx or isolation. Manila is not as strong but the urban hex, high exp and high prep points do wonders. 9000ish casualties vs the Japanese deliberate attack a few days ago says it all. Might actually make it past May 8, 42.

Now that the American carriers have hit and run I know there general location.

It has just been reported that the commander of the IJN I-5 has been reported as missing in action. His executive officer has assumed his duties at this time.
