Fleeing again for more torpedoes.
Sink the Ryujo
In December of nineteen forty-one the war had just begun
The Japanese had a tubby ship that had torpedo planes
The Ryujo was the tubbeist ship that ever sailed the seas
On her deck were torpedos as big as steers and bombs as big as trees
Out of the cold and foggy night came the British ship the Repulse
And evry British seaman, he knew and understood
They had to sink the Ryujo, the terror of the sea
Stop those torpedos as big as steers and those bombs as big as trees
We'll find that Japanese Light Carrier thats makin' such a fuss
We gotta sink the Ryujo 'cause the world depends on us
Hit the decks a-runnin' boys and spin those guns around
When we find the Ryujo we gotta cut her down
The Repulse found the Ryujo and on that fatal night
The Ryujo started burnin' fifteen miles away
We gotta sink the Ryujo was the battle sound
And when the smoke had cleared away
The Tubby little tug boat like Ryujo had went down
For six long days and weary nights they had tried to find her trail
Churchill told the people "Put ev'ry ship a-sail"
'Cause somewhere on that ocean I know she's gotta be
We gotta sink the Ryujo to the bottom of the sea
We'll find that Japanese Light Carrier thats makin' such a fuss
We gotta sink the Ryujo 'cause the world depends on us
Hit the decks a-runnin' boys and spin those guns around
When we find the Ryujo we gotta cut her down

Just to share with you guys, Mogami would have lost a lot more of his fleeing ships without my having to run back and reload all the time. The rule keeping CV's in check and not camping is working better then planned as far as I am concerned.
And now to throw some egg his way: "I thought you were not going to flee from me." [:'(]

RE: Sink the Ryujo
Fleeing? You better learn to interpet your intell.
Singapore has 300 heavy industry. In peace time this is supplied resource from Kula Lumpar. However since the Japanese are going to occupy (in fact they have already) this base means Singapore will cease creating supply. However my "fleeing" transports have already moved over 10k resource to Singapore (not one ship hit by air attack)
I move the resource rather then supply because the 300 heavy industry can create supply. The normal supply is being moved to bases that cannot produce their own.
Not one airgroup has left the SRA with the exception of a few that had a range of 2 and 1 night fighter group. The short ranged groups have moved to Ceylon to provide air defense for those bases. In fact I've moved more aircraft into the SRA then I've moved out.
No surface combat ship with damage below 10 has left the SRA.

Is reinforcing Singapore and Malaya with additional land formations a waste of time or cand you genuinely hold up the fall of the rock in the face of 3 or 4 elite japanese divisions.

Singapore
Hi, The defense of Singapore is not an exclusive event. It is tied to events else where.
The amount of damage the Allies inflict on the Japanese will impact Singapore. (sink more transports and fewer reinforcements and supply can be moved at a time)
Batavia supports Singapore. Palembang supports Singapore, Rangoon supports Singapore. The loss of Rangoon has very bad impact on Singapore. (It's the primary air route for groups moving in or out)
I build from the ground up so my first efforts are to hold Rangoon. Then I would like a base in Sumatra to provide aircover for TF's moving towards Singapore from the IO.
Palembang and Batavia do this for TF's moving from the south.
Supply is the issue. When Singapore runs out of supply the 1000 combat factors fight like 250. A Japanese div at full strength and fully rested is around 450. SO 2 IJN Div can take Singapore. (If Singapore is out of supply the Japanese can sit and rest and rebuild all they want) If Singapore is in supply then 4 IJN Div (1800 combat points) do not have 2-1 (almost but not quite. Here is where the reinforcements come in. If they can be supplied then it is worth moving fresh units into Singapore and the Allies only need to bring in 300 or so points to make Singapore hard to take. I've dug in to level 6 at present)

Thanks Mogami,
Sounds like an interesting balancing act between delaying Japanese expansion and losing units that may allow Rangoon to hold and or place India at risk.

RE: Singapore
Just razzing you Mog since you laugh at my little CV [:'(]
Not a heck of a lot I can do except wait for ships to load and move. Loosing that first turn plan really rattles me. I have never played like this before. It's like slow motion is stuck on.

Did I mention that she got fed up with your back talking and called in her sisters? [:D]
RE: Singapore
Yike [X(] (LOL I was stalking that TF?)
I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a different direction!
RE: Singapore
[:D]
It was a quick change stunt, they passed each other at night heading in opposite directions. I was hoping you'd come out and try and mess with her.

RE: Singapore
ABDA has been ordered to engage the IJN with every airgroup in range. This (if they fly) is the best I can do (it was not worth doing for a puny tub CVL but for 6 CV...well thats a whole new ballgame. If they fly I have numbers (but not quality) that compare to the IJN air wings. Then again the IJN has to move the correct direction. (I hoping he chases the damaged ships)
I should put up 70-90 fighters and at least 70 bombers
