My mother was born and raised in Los Angeles and has a definite Angelino accent. She has always pronounced it Los An-gal-less. Even though I grew up there (very close to the Hunnington Library in fact), I never got the accent (I've been told I sound like a Midwesterner). I pronounce it Los En-gel-less. My mother has corrected my pronunciation my entire life, but she is the only person I've ever encountered who pronounces it the way she does.
