RE: AAR european diplomacy
Alright...
This kinda sucks. The game crashed on the AI's turn...My last save was at the begining of turn 48.
Sooo I'll have to play through those 3 turns as close as possible to my original moves and then continue the AAR on turn 51 as if it never happened.
I doubt I'll get as good of results on my Air campaign this time.[:@]

Ironcrom - bummer, but please keep it up anyway! I'm learning a lot from this, and enjoying it as well! Your skills at AT are impressive and way, way, way, way, way, beyond mine!

Hey thanx AZ.[:)]
I'm not sure I'll be able to live up to such a great compliment, but I plan to play this one out til the end...

RE: AAR european diplomacy
Good to hear. Its a highly enjoyable AAR.
RE: AAR european diplomacy
OK... so I played through til the end of turn 50 and came up with very close results as before.
As I suspected my Air campaign wasn't as good as before but it was pretty good.
Here is an early plan for the invasion of Southern Italy.
On the bottom you see 2 ports circled in red...They are Palermo on the left and Massina on the right.
Originally I thought about launching the main invasion at Naples.[The city circled in black] But after doing a little recon I decided to move the invasion further South.
The main force will strike at Messina, with a smaller force consisting of probably just one unit will take Palermo.
The newly created Army [currently based in Barcelona] that will take part in the invasion is circled in black on the right.

RE: AAR european diplomacy
Well I seem to have run into a roadblock here fellas. being cautious of another crash I made 2 save game files ever turn since 48. 1 at the beginning of the turn [before any moves] and another at the end.
So for turn 50 I have 2 saves. Now ever time I end the turn I',m getting a fatal exception error on the AI's turn. I've tried using both saves and tried ending turn 50 without moving at all.[&:]
I posted this bug in the support forum if anyone has a solution...tm.asp?m=1635110
I'm sure Vic will look into it soon, but if this has no easy fix then it probably means I have to wait for the next patch to finish this game.[:(]
I can't go back any further than turn 50 right now...I've been reusing the same 2 save files for the beginning and end of turn. So turn 50 is the only save I have for this game.
If you think you can help in this matter please check the link above.[&:]

Alright TURN 51
The 1st MA is positioned next to the Northern river and ready for action.
The 2 Army groups positioned next to the river are the 1st MA at the top and Army group North just below.
Next turn both groups will commence attacks across the river pushing East, with 1st MA hugging the coast.
There immediate goal is the river marked in green...
-Rommel says Tripoli has been pounded into dust and an assalt will commence at first light tomorrow.
On a side note...It sure feels good to back in the saddle.[:D]

Massive air strikes against Amsterdam took place this turn as well as naval bombardment. The Vikings have placed a rather large air formation there.[:-]

TURN 52
Have a look at this...The 2 cities in red are places I just launched air strikes against enemy air formations.
HMMM...I had to take this shot before I started moving my ground units across the river.
My air recon over the area gives a real interesting view of AI behavior. All the units circled in green are in the same army group. The 16th HQ in the North and 17th HQ in South.
All 3 cities with a black check marks are PP cities.

TURN 52
Spanish forces advance into cental Europe!
For reasons of clarity I will be renaming the 3 army groups in Europe.
From top to bottom it's Army Group North, Center, and South.
The Spanish Army now on cargo ships in the mediterian moving to invade southern Italy will be the New 1st MA.

Beginning of TURN 53
The Vikings react to Spanish forces crossing the river. HMMM... Impressive show of force.
Commander of Army group North assures High command that the Viking reaction is little more than a speed bump.
Spanish forces will cut through Viking lines like a hot knife through butter.[;)]

RE: AAR european diplomacy
Before I continue my offensive I though I would show how I restructured my command in France to prepair for this attack.
There are 3 PP cities in France. Paris in the North, Geneva in the center, and Turin in the south.
Before this offensive when the 2 armies in France were just holding the line, only Paris was assigned to supply this front.
Now there is an extra army and expected cassualities should be much higher. So, the center HQ will be the master HQ with the other 2 attached to it.
Paris will be attached to Army HQ north and the other 2 pp cities attached to Master HQ in the center. The HQ in the south will draw its supplies from the center HQ.
With the extra PP's going directly to the front line HQ's, I will be able to produce [hopefuly] all the nessesary replacements needed for these armies right into HQ north, and HQ center.
This is important cause any replacments that have to be transfered to the front from my supreme HQ in Spain will lose readiness in the transfer process.
There is no readiness loss if the replacments are coming from their own HQ.
I design my offensive armies with mostly rear area wepons if you look below. On offence these unit are rarely lost in battle.
I know the AT gun is not an offensive weapon but it kicks but when an infantry unit is facing Armor units.
The primary purpose of the AC is to draw some fire away from the infantry and of course ad a little more fire power to the unit...The AC is great against infantry.
Now I know the majority of my needed replacments will be rifflemen and AC's, so thats what I'll be building. Aircraft will be built in spain...Note there is no readiness loss when tranfering Air units.
