We rail in whatever reinforcements we can find. I have no doubt the counter-attack will be painful.

Turn 74: June 19, 1942

Soviets suffer 3 units shattered: 1 army, 1 mech and 1 tank.

I know we should probably defend now, but it's just so much fun to shatter units! Especially those with elite specializations.

Unfortunately that is the only unit we shatter in the north, and our units are really tired by now. Hopefully the Germans are too.

In the south we take back Kharkov and then shatter the defending corps for good measure.

The Axis has to be hurting from all of this. Oh and I don't think I have to mention it but Soviet experience is now at 50%. Mission complete.

The Western Allies are repairing rail lines and preparing for an attack on Barcelona.
The US sends 70 and the UK 40 production to the Soviets.

Turn 75: July 3, 1942

The Soviets lose an army and a mech corps shattered, one fighter overrun.

With the Axis dead set on Moscow, we come up with a distraction at Novgorod.

In the south we lose ground around Kharkov but make no counter-attacks. Let them tire themselves out recapturing the city.

My initial plan to take it easy in front of Moscow soon turns into another all out attack.
It's just so darn fun to shatter units - we get two corps this turn.

Axis strain can be seen by the fact that there are Romanian divisions on the flanks. I could easily
push these back if I wanted to.

The 1st Guard Tanks are mobilized behind Moscow after the screenshot.

In an odd move, Barcelona is abandoned.

We try to brute force our way through the hills to the west of the Pyrenees, but can't make any progress.
(The 3rd Armoured has to be disbanded anyway. With the next patch we could have switched type.)

The Axis defenses here are really not impressive. I was expecting no chance to penetrate to France, but instead next turn we'll go for a major
push on both sides of the mountain range.

The Allies keep sending aid to the Soviets.

Turn 76: July 17, 1942

The Soviets lose an army shattered and a tactical bomber overrun, and a paratrooper overruns 2 long range bombers.
U-boats sink 2 merchants and 1 escort, surface raiders sink 7 merchants.

I don't get it. The Axis are wearing themselves out banging theirs heads against Moscow.

I'm having trouble understanding Axis strategy at this point. Sure, Moscow will most likely fall, but... for what?
We shatter the Italian mech and the paratrooper surrenders.

In the northwest... well it's anyone's guess how this will play out.

Meanwhile there is some bad news for the Axis from the western front, it seems their obsession with Moscow may be costly.
Actually calling it a "front" is an exaggeration. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, between our spearhead and Germany.

Well, after a really good 41 Barbarossa, it looks like Battlevonwar is dropping the ball here.

He doesn't need to rush Moscow or pile 3 deep in front of it like that. This is just bad tactics. He ought to be focusing on thinning the Red herd and spreading out his offensive punch to do this. If he can kill 2-3 units a turn for a couple of months, Moscow will fall. And letting you run amok south of Leningrad is lol.

US builds an armor corps, Canada builds a division. We keep up the convoys to the Soviets despite the raiding, because why not?
