We all have different styles of playing and risk taking. That is all my comment was saying about the Rabual battles, well done by the allied player IMHO. The PT's are fubar but that too is my opinion. Continue on with the war. [8D]

RE: Panzerjaeger vs 2ndAcr Lemurs' Scen 26
Well, once again it must be said "The IJN sucks at damage control". CV Hiryu had a whopping 27 float damage from the torpedo hit. After one turn she is up to 41 float damage. Even if she makes that lovely size 3 port 2 hexes away, she will more than likely sink. I have saved my air groups though. my damage control crews seem to be hard at work with their can openers on the opposite side of the ship to let the water out.
Nothing else has happened this turn. My only concern at the moment is to see how fast my crew can sink their own ship.

This could use a look see. Fire conflagaration was Japan's problem, not flooding.

Another slow turn. My hurt CV has made port, flt damage now at 43 and fires at 3, system at 31. Now to see if my crew can sink her while in port. Size 3 port. I would love to get her to a size 6 or better, but do not want to risk it.
Maybe Panzer will take pity on her and leave her be. (HINT) I want to see if she will control the flooding or if it is hopeless.
In another game against the AI, I had Akagi bushwhacked by Enterprise off Frigate Shoals. Akagi took 2 1000lb bomb hits that did no critical hits, left her with IIRC 15sys, 12flt, 23 fire. She sank 6 turns later. Both hits were deck hits.

muahahah gee...I wonder what port that CV is in...

Allied highlights of the day. Finally Im starting to give as good as I get in the skies above Rangoon. The P40s transferred from PI and the newly arrived Hurricanes from India prove their worth.
And a critical hit on a second Jap fleet carrier. Soryo had already been hit twice the turn before by Dutch airunits from Java, but no critical damage. This time severe fires below deck was reported. Normally that is very bad for a jap ship. At the very least, the adventures of this carrier division will have it in port for a year. At worst, it is lost.

I do love FOW. Soryu will make port and survive. Damage is very light. About the same as Hiryu, if her crew does not sink her while in port.[:(]

Sailing for Seattle.[X(]
It takes awhile for ships to move that far unseen you know. Of course all those tankers and transports leaving San Francisco sure do look inviting. May have to pay them a visit before they reach air cover.[:D]

RE: Panzerjaeger vs 2ndAcr Lemurs' Scen 26
It is now late January 1942.
Burma front
Heavy airbattles over Rangoon. I think We have both lost around 100 aircraft each in the past two-three turns. Rangoon is defended by Hurricanes and P40s, and the attckers are mostly Oscars and Zeros.
No sign of Japanese advances on the ground though, after reaching Moulmein a couple of weeks ago, the IJA has halted for now. Singapore is under attack, unsure how long I can hold it.
Chinese front
Attacks in the north at Yenen. So far the city is holding, but it is a precaucious hold. If I lose that city, most of the northern front is wide open. A desperate struggle. In the south, I have managed to surround over 100 000 japanese troops in Wuchow. Mr Tojo got a bit careless in his attack, and forgot to leave protection behind his lines. Thus I was able to sneak a couple of chinese Corps in behind his rear, and he is now surrounded.
Phillippines front
US forces dug in at Clark and Bataan. Japanese troops in Manilla and Lingayen preparing for the final attack.
New Guinea/Solomons front
Japanese landings at Lae and Rabaul are inneffective. He is not attacking, just sitting there waiting for reinforcements. KB is hovering in the area, undoubtedly looking for the US Navy carriers. He also has most of his battleships in the area. Right now the ocean is clear, but I suspect they are back at Truk loading more units and supplies. The big push is bound to come sooner or later in this area. So far the Allies hold.

RE: Panzerjaeger vs 2ndAcr Lemurs' Scen 26
As Panzer said, it is late January 42. The 25th to be exact.
Rangoon has become a meat grinder for a/c. Hurricanes in Lemurs scenario are real killers now. Over half my a/c losses over Rangoon cam in the 1st day or 2 when I had 2 groups of Oscar IB's escorting my bombers. They got butchered. I transfered in 3 groups of Zeros and have done much better, but even then it is not a sure thing.
He has been sending bombardment groups to hit Moulmien and Tavoy at times and I finally caught those suckers with Betty's. Revenge has taken at least 6 torpedo hits over the last 2 days. Plus a CL took a torp.
Singapore will hopefully fall in the next week. That will free up 4 divisions and a brigade for use elsewhere and allow me access to the Indian Ocean.
In the South Pacific, Lae has finally fallen. Rabual is being stubborn and i have to await more forces before finishing them off. Panzer has been bombarding Tarawa off and on all game, but finally 2 of his BB's hit mines there. Soon it will be a size 4 AF and that will hurt him.
I control most of the PI region except for Clarke, Bataan and the 2 isolated bases with garrisons. The forces on the big island containing Davao are now bottled up in one base and they should fall soon. I have a toehold on southern Borneo, but have to wait for more forces bfore pushing the issue there.
China was a miscalculation. I massed my forces for the punch at Wuchow and am paying the price for it. He is raiding up and down the rail line trying to block it. I did find a bug at Wuchow and have ceased using the exploit it caused once I realised what it was doing.
All told, alot of mistakes have been made in this here game. but I shall prevail in the end.
