Osaka bombed!

Post by George Patton »

Rep of 5/1/42

A new month, and the advantage for the Zero is gone. [:(]

JAPAN

Today 67 B-17 and 50 LB-30 bombed Osaka harbor, damaging 31 AK [:@][:@][:@].
3 B-17 and 3 Liberator shot down, and 3 Zero lost. I need to reinforce the air defense of Osaka immediately.
Tomorrow forecast is for thunderstorm. [;)]
I'm preparing hundreds of bombers and fighters to attack Vladivostok. I know that I'll loose a lot of fighters and bombers, but I hope to destroy a lot of enemy too.

DEI

First attack to Jambi failed. I'm sending reinforcement to the 4. Mixed Rgt. The 2. division is transiting afloat, directed to Singapore. The unit will unload quickly to Jambi.

The intervention of the Emperor

Post by George Patton »

Rep of 6/2/42

NORTH PAC

5 P-40 shot down over Kiska by my Zero.

JAPAN

Today, during the meeting of the Imperial HQ, the Emperor, normally in silence, decided to intervene about the soviet and allied bomber problem.
His Majesty decided to cancel the preview invasion and occupation of New Hebrides and New Caledonia. He said that he's ready to loose the north part of Manchukuo but he wants that Vladivostok must be captured. The same for Uglahamensk.
At this purpose two operation, named Sho-1 and Sho-2 will take place.
In the next reports further informations will be released.

CHINA

94 B-17 attacked Mukden airport, where I'm assembling the great bombers fleet to attack Vladivostok afld.
2 B-17 shot down and 59 damaged, but: 3 Zero, 6 Osca, 1 Tojo, 2 Helen, 7 Sally and 1 Lily destroyed on the ground. Fortunately the afld is still operating.
I can't wait anymore now.
Tomorrow 381 bombers (most Sally, but also Helen and some Lily) will attack Vladivostok airfield, escorted by 180 fighters (most of them Oscar). The future of Japan is maybe depending on this attack.
In addiotion, from Wonsan I'll send 169 Oscar over Vladivostok, on sweep mission. That's all I have in this area.

NORTH PAC

3 P-40 shot down at Kiska, by my Zero of Attu.

The Clash of Titans

NORTH PAC

With the help of 53. Division, the fort at Petropavlovsk is reduced to 1. I hope the base will fall tomorrow.

URSS

Finally the two airforces meet themselves over Vladivostok.

I've lost 101 fighters and 43 bombers, and I have shot down 109 enemy fighters and destroyed 31 bombers on the ground plus 1 Catalina.

The damage to the airfield are heavy but I'm sure is still operational.

I've transferred some fighters to Mukden where I have now 241 fighters and 324 bombers and I'm flying LRCAP from Hungnam with 60 fighters.

I'm a little bit concerned for so many fighters lost, but I'm looking confident for tomorrow.

To complete the destruction of Vladi afld, I'm sending a naval TF from Sasebo, composed by 4 BB, 3 CA, 1 CL and 6 DD.

RE: Operation Condor

Post by Sneer »

ORIGINAL: George Patton

Another military operation has been approved by the Imperial Command in Tokyo.
The operation, codename "Condor", will concentrate against India and the british forces.

Force A will land in Chandpur, and will be composed by:

- 2 Inf Division
- 5 Inf Division
- 18 Inf Division
- 2. Tank Rgt
- 6. Tank Rgt
- 1. Res Tank Rgt (activated in Japan)
- 6. Res Tank Rgt (activated in Japan)
- 5. Eng Rgt
- 3. Hvy FA Rgt
- 18. Hvy FA Rgt
- 15. ENG Base Force

Force B will land in Diamond Harbor, and will be composed by:

- 21. Mixed Bde
- 56. Bde
- 14. Tank Rgt
- 23. Eng Rgt
- 5. Mortar Bn
- 14. Mortar Bn
- 134. IJA BF
- 137. IJA BF

The two forces, after having reached the respective objective, will advance towards Dacca and Calcutta.

But the Operation "Condor" it's far from to be ready to start. The forces are scattered everywhere in the DEI and they need to be assembled in Singapore. I can't say yet the date of starting. I need at least 2 weeks more.
1. i would not split forces i such important invasion
2. forces are enough for early april but insufficient for may 42

By now, my recon spotted:

at Chandpur:

15 LCU, with 25'600 men, 144 guns and 9 AFV

at Dacca:

3 LCU, with 13'060 men, 68 guns and 6 AFV

at Diamond Harbor, at the moment, 3500 men.

It should be enough for Chandpur, don't you think?
He has most of the units in Akyab.

recon is often not detailed so there may be more and he is smart a bit forts will be high and ports mined- planes do not count at this stage against big invasion
but if you are sure that he is at akyab not in east india than go take it .... I would gladly play against your opponent
Akyan is a trap for allies until summer 42

Thing is now he had time to figure out that you were trying to flatten Vlad. Maybe you should have striked first with BB LRCAPed with Zeros from Japan, and then launched the air camapaign ( easier once you've erased 60 planes and damaged others..)

Anyway, watching the Oscar losses, I guess you are sending green pilots to be used as cannon fodder and allow bombers to pass unharmed, or are you actually losing skilled pilots ?

The result are great as you can see from the combat.
The airfield is now at 62 damage and recon says that there are still only 40 fighters in fly condition.

The other fronts are quiet.
