TURN 54
IN Italy the 1st MA has reached Naples and the first long range attacks fall onto the port.
The commander of the 1st MA, noting how well Rommel used the combination of Air, Arty, and Naval fire to bring Tripoli to its knees has decided on a similar strategy for Naples.
-Rommels Africa Corps nears Egypt.

TURN 54
I almost forgot to post this one.
I have 3 large fighter formations stationed in central Europe. Here all 3 converge for an attack on Strasbourg.
The enemy brought in more planes then I thought I would be facing. Better planes and better pilots led to a stunning victory.

Beginning of TURN 56
This has been a pretty common occurrence on the AI's turn.
Proper positioning of my fighter insures an intercept almost anwhere the enemy may decide to strike.
On more expensive equiptment I try to place flak nearby as well.
Normally I would lose 1-3 planes as well...this was a good one for me.

Beginning of TURN 56
Here is the one they lost the most on.
They flew right into a major kill zone here with 40 of my fighters able to respond plus flak.[X(]

The next v1.1 AI will not throw its aircraft away so lightly anymore. I think overall your succesfull air campaign has helped you a lot.

Nice AAR!

I just thought the same reading the report for the last few turns.
The AI is really "stupid" in handling it´s planes.
AI player "saw" the massive airstrikes from Irons turn. And it saw it´s in a equipment disadvantage (not to talk about experience).
So it should at least NOT attack in this situation. And it should overweight plane production and try to upgrade to fighter III.
Getting air superiority back has to have highest priority now for the AI !! Protection of own production and forces against air attacks.

Yes this AAR has been realy insightfull and helpfull in finetuning Albert a bit further for v1.1 christmas patch. Also in v1.1 Albert will build some Flak of its own when he thinks it is neccessary.

I agree...
You want the AI to use its Air, as it can be such a powerful weapon...but not on suicide missions.
I do like the way the AI almost always trys to seek out Arty's and armor for air strikes. That's exactly what you want it to do.

 HMMM...
I just thought of something. One thing I don't see the AI do is seek out my air bases to launch fighter attacks against. Winning the air war is a lot easier if you actively seek out and destroy enemy aircraft.

Begining of turn 56
Spanish fighters scout ahead before any units of The Amy attempt to cross the Rhine.
Enemy activity is at a minimum...It appears I have broken the back of the Viking Army.
In Stutgard My fighters spot what remains of the Vikings western Airforce. They are badly bloodied, I will have to put them out of their misery.
2 Spanish fighter wings, each with 20 aircraft are slated to conduct a raid on the field.[;)]

Beginning of TURN 57
Spanish fighters do some deep recon of central Europe and discover heavy concentrations of Baltic forces in Northern Italy.[X(]
The 1st MA has its work cut out. It may require aditional divisions to complete its task of clearing Northern Italy.

This is a great AAR, I'm really enjoying it. I think I'm going to give the same scenario a go as Turkey. (I just wish the turns processed a bit faster.)

A few quick questions:

1.) Are you playing with the extra units/production option that gives you x5 the production or just the standard version?

2.) Can we see your production overview? I'm curious as to what percent of your production you're dedicating to supply and what to new units as I see to have problems with that. Similarly, I seem to have a hard time making enough staff to keep everyone running top notch.
