Well, these are FOW numbers. The losses weren't very much, maybe around 5000. Expected a lot worse going into those coastal guns and minefields. The coastal guns concentrated on the MSW craft. I don't know if this is a good idea in such a situation. They really should go after the troop transports and leave the mine sweepers alone.

Judging by the one attack that occured, it appears the American garrison is ready to give up. This should all be over by February 20th. The Pacific is secure.

Yeah, how realistic do you think the result of the invasion was? I'm guessing that the casualty figure includes dead and wounded. Not too bad, I think the six weeks of bombing probably helped a lot to weaken the defenses.

It's a mixed bag. Some of the units got hit pretty hard while most got ashore without too much problem. I lost 15-20 minesweepers but that is the price for an invasion against a enemy held, fortified island like this.

I noticed the Allies have a quite a few base support units in PH. After they are destroyed, I wonder how long it will take for enough new ones to come on. All the Allied base forces in the Pacific have been destroyed, leaving them without the ability to secure those islands.
