I decided to sortie my CV's again, towards Rabaul.  Hoping to sneak up on that base again.  However, my air combat TF commander had other plans.  Halsey spotted and engaged a sizeable transport TF at Guadalcanal.
 
The transports engaged were not carrying troops. And yet recon indicates there is only one LCU on the island.  Odd.
