Mogami
It's going to be a boring game because I will not fight in china unless you make me. I am not going to trigger Soviets. I won't move between HQ without paying PP. No TF will bombard without being in range of friendly CAP. No landings on turn 1 unless enemy base is within 4 hexes of Japanese base where landing force begin.
It should be noted that I did not ask for these restrictions, nor will I "enforce" them should he change his mind.
All I asked is that he not target the American CV's on December 7th.
Alternate game titles could be "The Battle of Ohio" (Findlay vs Columbus). Or perhaps, "The Saint Versus The Sinner". In the latter case, I will be up to the forum to decide who is who.
My thoughts as the allies on the first turn: Very conservative opening. Fewer landings than the historical Japanese. Nothing at Wake, or Malaysa, or even the Phillipines yet. Though there are Rising SUn TF's in view both east and west of PI. The Pearl strike was particularly effective with one BB already sunk and many more severly damaged. Batan Island fell. Hong Kong is defiant.
