So, I bought this game the day it was released on the promise that there would be an AI opponent. Looking at the forum, it seems like development stopped a long time ago. Is that correct?

Technically no, but there has been miniscule progress in the last few years.

some times a Matrix game employee comes online to say that the game is not abandoned,

but we have eyes
