You mean we aren't the 51st state already ?..

1) Already the number of lawyers and personal injury claims are rising to yankee levels.

2) Mr Blair is a Gdubya lacky/fanboy

3) MacDonalds

4) The kids here have black american accents ( even the white/asian/indian subcontinent ones)

5) Rap .. (silent C not included)

6) The popularity of friends and frazier

etc.

Term - just make a few cartoons of GWB [;)]

sorry.. could not resist [:D][:D][:D]
Before becoming a full blown state it is tradition that you first be declared a territory. This is like a probationary period during which you must show that you are willing to fully accept American culture. When you have achieved the level of refinement of Texas full statehood may be considered. [:'(]

Hey, there must be some reason why Puerto Rico has always resisted becoming the 51st State...

It's about time for the Dancing Llamas...from Peru...

And don't mind the Texans. We enjoy the attempt at humor, even if they do get a consistent "doesn't play well with others" on their report cards, and they do remind us why we have to teach "English" in school so we can understand each other.

The road we shouldn't go down was the "Politics-On-The-Forum" road, and I agree with that 100%

I will, however, mercilessly poke fun at my American friends whenever I feel like it...

Yup, and we definitely poke back at your small African country. [:D]

Why Texas is full of culture.

1. Tex-mex food.
2. It's a bilingual state...half the population speaks one language and the other half speaks another.
3. R-o-d-e-o-s...need I say more?
4. Texas has world class dancers, aka the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
5. In terms of fashion, the womens "big hair" style and the guys 5 lb belt buckles are the envy of any parisian designer.

Please don't tease us with good ideas......[:D]
Your new prime minister (The Right Honourable Tony Blair, MP for the 97.85% of you who have until now been unaware that there is a world outside your borders) will appoint a minister for America without the need for further elections. Congress and the Senate will be disbanded. A questionnaire will be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed.

Sadly it will never work, we all know MS is a independent country and only follows their own rules. Also do you have any idea how many BUGS, INCOMPATABLITIES, and SECURITY LEAKS this will cause.......WITP will never run correctly. [:D]
2. There is no such thing as "US English." We will let Microsoft know on your behalf. The Microsoft spell-checker will be adjusted to take account of the reinstated letter 'u' and the elimination of "-ize."

Does this mean that we will get REAL ACTORS...............[:D]
4. Hollywood will be required occasionally to cast English actors as the good guys. Hollywood will also be required to cast English actors to play English characters. British sit-coms such as "Men Behaving Badly" or "Red Dwarf" will not be re-cast and watered down for a wishy-washy American audience who can't cope with the humour of occasional political incorrectness.

Former British ambassador to Denmark. Wrote a book about the Danes and why we're different from everybody else. Always interesting to read what informed foreigners have to say about one's country.
