Doggie can most assuareduly respond with his own scathing attacks. BUT I challange you to find ANY thread where he "started" it. He responds to things from others, I would suggest occasionally some of them are not worth the effort or time. I can find several recent threads where YOU made direct personal attacks on posters for no apparent reason.

I no longer post at Mad Cows and you can rest assurade Doggie is no friend of mine. But your assertions are simply beyond the pale.

Yes yes, but only certain offenders need be policed, right? Those that happen to agree with the "correct" side are free to insult, order others around, go off topic and then when called to task or someone responds to the bait, "those" people are the problem, right?

Depends how you define "Compromise".

There's the more important aspect of behavior as opposed to whatever issue is at hand though.

Both sides are guilty of demonizing the opposition, belittlement out of hand and attempting to stifle dissent(Usually after getting their two cents in).

Allright, I've had it.

When the moderator says that he doesn't want to see any more politics and any more discussion spilling over from the Steakhouse, those comments are not up for further discussion. I wish those other threads hadn't digressed to the point they needed locking as the basic topics were of great interest to me as well. However, they did. Get with the program people or go discuss your differences elsewhere.

There's no favoritism here regarding any of the issues you may be imagining a perceived bias on. I have no history in the Steakhouse and I honestly don't care who you all voted for in the last election. There may be inconsistent moderation because moderation is NOT our priority and as a result comments slip through. My plate is full to overflowing without adding this to the mix. In the past, most posters have had thick enough skin to deal with an occasional faux pas from someone, as long as it was not repeated or the focus of discussion. That's why the general policy was to let the occasional slip go by, as it would in most polite company, as long as there were not repeat instances. More recently, this has apparently become problematic and generated complaints, some justified others not.

The reason politics, religion, etc. are not acceptable topics for discussion HERE is that this s a gaming community, not a community of one political party or another or one religion or another. All of that discussion, while important, has many, many other places on the internet where it's acceptable. Heck, we spun off the Art of War specifically to give people a place to go that was "not here" for those discussions. There are thousands if not millions of other forums like it for those that don't want to go to the Steakhouse. Similarly, there are newsgroups on various topics as well. Here, the inability to discuss questions without bringing politics in only serves to separate us along unnecessary lines when it comes to gaming. The same thing goes for personal attacks - leave them at home. I've seen all I need to see as far as who can stay on topic and polite and who can't.

Locking this thread up as well now. I don't want to see a new one re-hashing this or discussing my post. Love it or leave it folks. I am not a full-time moderator and I don't intend to become one.
