BOB 1941 - 1 week - TEST AAR

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Yeah, ingame videos are gone. They were not in the BTR code, and I saw no need to restore them.

That fullscreen button may yet go - we're working on some stuff that it affects at the moment. As it is, at the lowest zoom level I've had to make a filler screen, as the eastern edge is about 750ish pixels across... The screens here are zoomed in, so the filler is not needed.

The battle rages over Middle Wallop..........the RAF fighter direction was better today with them being up in the air and at the right altitude in time. The Whirlwind's do good today in shooting down and damaging a 109 for no loss.

A shot after Middle Wallop was hit. The service facilities were hit hard but the airfields were oprational within 3 hours time. Here's some Hurri's get the surprise upon a 109 which is shot down. By the end of this battle 4 enemy planes have been shot down for the loss of friendlies. The Spits are still doing poorly though..........

An hour later the 2nd main set of enemy raids are on the way. It's a mass of planes the RAF could only hope to muster at thsi tiem of the war. Over 1000 enemy bombers in 3 raids! I assumed they would go for the key Primary's of Kenley and Biggin Hill again.....they did along with the Regia bombing London and it's railyards! The cheek of it Benny! I'll get you for that and have you hung.

The first battle occur with this aerial juggernaut. Some brave Hurri's dive on the enemy 88's leaving 1 downed (crashed on the way home) and 2 more damaged. The sheer weight of enemy 109's and even 110's begins to tell over the next 25 minutes though with several Hurri's and Spit's falling.............

The enemy forces are nearing their targets.

Further follow up raids can be seen here. The 3 easternmost one's are Erpro raids against Radar targets. Radar was hit hard today. Italian planes hit Radar on the Kent coast knocking most of them out. 2 of the DB's were snagged by Barrage Balloons[:)]

Italian's bombing London!

As you cann see Kenly and Biggin Hill were bombed by 100's of planes but both remain open. Air battles have been fierce with losses running roughly 1:1. A mixture of Hurri's and Spit's have been lost with a mixture of Do, He, Ju and 109's on the LW side.

Losses. Much better for RAF today. AA and BB claimed Italians over Kent and London.

BASED ON WHAT WAS SEEN DURING THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF THE TEST, I HAD STOPPED THE TEST

and reworked some of the parts I didn't like, hadn't gotten to, so when we get the chance, will have to start it over again :(

I had made changes to the plane stats for BoB way back when, but was waiting on feedback, before makeing them carry over to BoB41, during play, noticed that the stats were not correct, so instead of trying to see how it looks with the wrong plane models, I have stopped the test run

my bad, my fault

but the test did what I had hoped and found some oddities we didn't know about

A necessary evil.  Good call to stop it and fix things, since you found what you were hoping to see.

we getting to the 2nd round finally, sorry for the delay, work and RL and all keeps popping up

thought I should talk about sizes

first turn for BoB/BoB41 is around 15.7 Mgs, so the file is large, but it zipped down to around 179 Kbs, so is easy to send in the mail

which as the turns go on the file size will grow, but the largest I have seen so far while zipped is around 302 kbs (hmmmm, not sure how this stuff really works, but complete file sizes are the same, zipped file sizes are between 179 and 302 kbs)
