I'm still laughing at Nomad's original post about Ron pre-bitching......[:D][&o]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

I believe it is more accurately termed pre-griping.[;)] Sure wish I could get the banner Platoonist made me to work again. Anyone seen Platoonist around these days?

Ron, pre-griping is not possible due to the limitations of a 40-mile hex. [;)]

I don't know how many of you know this but Ron started with UVs so he's been at it a long time.[;)]

Actually, a seriuos question (for once).  Why would anyone pre-order software?  Do you get a significant price break?  I mean it's just bits and last I heard that was not a scarce resource. [&:]

I pre-ordered UV at a discounted price (15%?). Of course digital download wasn't an option. Another reason to pre-order nowadays is that there is sometimes "exclusive content" given as an incentive. I think most people pre-order just so that they're sure to get a much anticipated title ASAP. So impatience is probably the main reason why.

From the publisher's perspective: they get seed money for the project and get an indication of the public's interest; which helps them determine how much to produce.

I think you can use fast transports or subs to supply pre-griping, but you need a port of 6 or better.

I heard a rumor that the editor allows an ASW weapon called Kablammo!

Better yet a TF with the Nimitz.... would be fun watching Tomcats, A-6's and A-7's going to work on the KB.
