The problem here (resolved in 1.06) is that typically Constantinople is so far away from the borders where enemy forces usually start that is is too scared to invade all the way. This happens in almost any Turk war. I am running 1.06 and it seems to be much better at this.

I posted a bug to Mantis a day or two ago. At first, I merely thought it was "major", but it seems now to be a show-stopper. Better take a look at that one (the last one I submitted, about 2 days ago). NOTE: It may only apply to AI games, in which case it can drop back to minor status, I think.
At LAST! The greatest campaign board game of all time is finally available for the PC. Can my old heart stand the strain?

Completed latest game.  Ended Dec 1809.

Fr - 90%
GB - 96%
Sp - 43%
Pr - 97%
Tu - 101% WINNER
Au - 94%

Guess which was PC?

Sp owned Portugal. All N. Afr. except Tunisia (stupid lapsed war after retreat) and Egypt; Parma, Romagna, Tuscany, Papacy, Modenna, Genoa, Sardinia, Oldenburg, Hamburg. Holstein. Missed Naples (see Tunisis).

Tu declared war on Austria (usually Russia) No known fighting. Russia took Finland. Prussia declared war on Sp. after Sp took Olden. No adjacent territory. Russ declared war on Turk late in game.  No known fights.  Sp Allied with Fr. in 1809 and attacked Pruss minors taking 2. Two battles. Fr fought no wars.

One of A.I.'s more pitiful performances, chit pulling was good (too good).

1.05 report. Playing FR against all hard AI. Numerous bugs, some I've seen mentioned.

-Message every month- "255 inf released to GB"
-Norway sperated from Denmark, Sicily seperated from Naples. RS DOWed Sweden in Jan05, got control of Sw & Fin. But when AS DOW'ed Naples in Jun05, did not get Sicily! Noticed at that time that Norway seperated from Den (both still neutral).
-POW's (including leaders) released back to owners every month (multiple occurences).
-Aug05, PR sieges Hannover, takes, puts in garrison point. Sep05, FR beats PR, sieges with NR, PR comes back and fights losing battle against FR. So, siege lifted, but FR corps in territory (and having performed a siege roll). Hannover conquered by PR at turn end!
-Mar05, SP DOW on Morrocco. AS controls. Apparently SP loses against Morroccan corps and retreats into desert. AS builds depot in Tangier. SP sits in desert (AI inactivity common we all know). So war not lapsed, but SP and AS never at war. Sometime Sep-Dec, AS builds corps on depot in Tangier!?!
-Oct05, FR & AS at war. In Sept, small FR corps takes Venice and moves into city, forcing AS fleet into blockading FR fleet. In Oct, move FR fleet into Venice. AS army sieges Venice with NR. During Fr land build depot in Venice (have depot and fleet in Toulon). Depot builds in land area (not in besieged port city)(note also that Venetia is still AS controlled). Click on corps in Venice and try clicking on 'move in/out of city' button and corps magically transports to depot. It then cannot be moved back, nor moved anywhere else. This triggers a land combat with large AS army (with predictable results).

Thats all for now.

In my games, I coped with this by giving FR & GB a 40 point bid, 35 for Austria, 30 for Russia, 25 for Spain & Prussia and 20 for Turkey. Or something like that. Of course, whichever country I play doesn't get the extra bid, only the other 6. This means that I can still play with them on "hard" but their is a chance for me to win also.

Any idea of what time frame we're talking about for a 1.05 final release? Some people I talk to seem to believe that it is very near...

I am checking to see what the current BETA release is (Should be 1.05.03) and I am ready to close 1.05 down and make it official BUT I don't want a small BETA period (4-7 days) for 1.05.03 BUT we are VERY close and I anticipate a 1.06 BETA very soon after...
