but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

Winter deepens in grip on Europe. German troops almost completed their redeployment. With the continued snows more supplies are needed. Almost the entire Reich is set to work producing supplies for the army. The Kreigsmarine (green arrow) has been at sea in the Baltic to help keep supply requirements low but they shall have to put into port to fuel up (only 6 turns worth carried) in preparation for the Spring offensives.

Our engineers have been hard at work developing new machine for the army.
(Many research projects cross link now. I took Armour 2 for the better tanks, halftracks and with Guns 2 I can get Heavy Tanks and Tank destroyers.... handy in Russia..)

During the debriefing period (history playback) our wolfpack reported sighting long range sout planes from Canada!
(Another new unit - Air Scout - longer range and better spotting - good against subs - bad against air units)

The wolfpack has a great month, not only sinking more supplies to England but also a cargo ship! (red arrow). But running low on fuel and nearly spotted they deside to head for port. This can be tricky as the RN has the ability to completely block our path home (lots more ships!). We get lucky though, the northern route seems unguarded.

Start of a new year and still Sitzkrieg continues... redeployment nearly complete. More bombing of the Maginot line. We keep shift targets so that the fortresses don't get completely destroyed... might come in handy later....
(Wider view of Europe showing new Dutch and Belgian troops colours and flags)

Wolfpack I finally makes it home to Kiel. But not before getting lucky and destroying some supplies going to the Scapa Flow naval base.
Wolfpack II gets its last sub next turn so both will be ready to sortie out to the Atlantic.

Still no movement from the French... except to run away from the front. Arty strike on teh Maginot line (red), airstrike on retreating Frenchmen (purple).
Kreigsmarine put into port for supplies(green).
Hopefully the snow will end in March (next turn, 50% chance of snow) so that the supply requirements go down and my troop readiness comes back up.

Spring is here. The snows finally melt away and we can begin to really prepare for the Great Crusade to come. We've made some additions to the command structure, you can see them if you look closely. (Since this is a game mostly for testing I thought I'd try to recreate the German command structure and see how it works. See next post)

Here is the OOB tree from the game. New is OKM - command of Kreigsmarine units, OKL - command of Luftwaffe units and OKH - command of army units. All of these are sub to OKW - command of entire Armed Forces. OKW will get supplies and pass them on. OKM will get and make new naval units. OKL will recieve and build new airforce units. OKH will recieve and construct new land combat forces. I'm hoping that at least the OKH will extend my suppliy lines in Russia. OKW plans not to move from Berlin for the entire war.

Which when I played it right away gave these reports. Seems Wallies didn't play the "France Prepared' action card.... which means he's using his PP's for something else....

April 12, 1940
Germany launches operations Weserubung, Wesertag and Fall Gelb. With stunning swiftness Denmark, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg are defeated. German panzers plow deep into the French countryside. Lille is captured. German Fallschirmjagers land in Oslo, Norway to secure German access to Swedish iron ore from British intervention.
The war with France should be over before summer is in full bloom.
