Don't forget to hit 'R' to turn off the re-charging operation, too. Otherwise, those subs might generate additional noise when they don't need to.

Just a friendly reminder about Herman and his attitude towards the game. I'd take what he says with a large grain of salt.

Looks like Old Dale can't stand it when folks point out how poorly maintained and incompetently tested the Databases/scenarios are from AGSI. Guess who's supposedly in charge of them in the first place. It will only take one try. It is no wonder the game is in such poor shape.

It boggles the imagination as to why he doesn't just fix them instead of trying to blame everyone else for his problems? I'll be that Dale wishes that he could just delete this thread and ban me like he tried in the past? [;)]

I may have missed something but were any scenarios or database (other than those for PDB) updated or released during say, 2009?
Where can someone download updated databases or new scens for ODB, HUD3 or ANWDB (all databases packaged with the game)?
Who does one go to to request new platforms for the packaged databases? Or for other support to scenario designers?
I remember in 2009 at the request of AGSI remaking some scens in HUD3 (Pirates and Sollum) - only to find midway the work that HUD3 basically stopped being supported and my emails went unanswered.

This has become an awfully small community of enthausiasts,
I think the number of active scen designers is close to 2,
the number of active database maintainers is close to 1,
theres a small group of people maintaining the code itself,
my guess of the number of regular players (say one game a month) is less than 30.

I wish we used those resources more wisely. Harpoon has been a fantastic hobby, I've long since tired of the griping going on around, I look forward to the release of 3.10 (yes also with apprehension on what old scens might become unplayable) and the only reason I still make scens is the optimistic hope that someone enjoys them (and guess how many players I ever get feedback from).

I will hazard a guess. I bet that all scenarios created pre-3.10 will be rendered unusable. Want to put some money on it? [;)]

AGSI was offered help on October 1, 2008 that would have had this game fixed for Christmas 2008. They declined. So, two Christmases and two New Years have since passed and still we have a bug-riddled game that is non-functional in any sense of the word. [:@]

Signed regarding many aspects, but I´m of a different opinion regarding some:

1. There are two official databases which work well: ANW DB and HUD 3.

2. Sadly, Darren Buckley, editor of HUD 3 has left for now due to real life issues. And thus he cannot defend his work. I´ll hope he´ll return. His work faced the same fate like db2000 did.

3. ANW DB is regularly maintained by Dale. Next update will be released with 3.10. Just ask him and he´ll put in the unit you request.

4. There are still guys around using official stuff and writing scens. I have written several for ANW DB and
HUD 3 in 2009. Despite focusing on GCB2, I´m still around and just now working on a new scen for 3.9.4 and ANW DB.

To put it shortly: There is still Pooning around which is NOT focused on PDB and never will.
