ArticFire (Germ) vs red (SO)

That soviet artillery is a monster. Still germans continue to try and push.
This turn was much more poor for the germans as we found our assumption of being only 100-200 yards away from the enemy positions to be true. Lost a Pz2 and a flame panzer this turn. In the south the soviets lose a tank to long range fire.
The north attack is stalled due to massive bombardment by 152mm art shells and air raids. It will be back underway next turn.
Soviets have a hord of tanks , the soviet overall battle tactic is becoming obvious and reserve forces have been shifted for rapid response.

The German push in the north continues. The 88 mm AA position that killed a T34 on the previous turn gets attention of Soviet large caliber artillery. Now it will have the faith of its partner that sist abndoned by its crew. Short skirmishes continue along the central and northern lines. The south is still quiet. The German spec ops squad has been surrounded and I'm waiting for their move. Il-2 flies by in the south attacking an AFV but fails to destroy it.

Soviets couter-attacked right after their bombardment in the north. German forces are heavly engaged up there. Soveits seem to have a god awful amount of tanks as a second wave of T34's crashes thru the woods.

The south has awakened. A massive push along the front line from the Soviet side. Germans are sitting back leaving a couple of AFVs and screening MC/Cavalry/Rifle squads by the fron line. Another push is happening in the center. I expect the Germans to be using the same tactics as in the south. The north sector had another round of bombardment to keep them quiet for a while.
Partisans are also attacking the rear German VHexes. A couple of German AFVs got blown up. German spec ops got killed with the help of the mortar they tried to kill before.

"Hold steady!!!"
<sound of thunder as troops flow by in mass the wrong way>
My gods he wasn't kidding it's a massive push spearheaded by tanks and a god awful amount of them to. By my count at LEAST 10 with more following behind
The only AFV's I had left foward wheren't there by choice! your darn planes stuck them there.
In the middle there is a small push, not nearly on the scale that he is trying to break the south but then again it is spread across more land.
In the north my troops dive for cover and body parts fly thru the trees. One brave PzIII charges thru the woods to a known T34 position on the top most hex row and they trade shots. No serious dmg as I can tell.
Oh almost forgot those SO units that where lost behind my lines near the vh's have been given proper directions back to germany.

The Soviet push continues. It slowed down due to the terrain but the fight goes on. There are multiple AFV losses on both sides. One German AFV is almost surrounded by 4 T34s so we'll see how long it lasts
. Il-2 damaged a panzer but before it also detected a German spec ops in the rear so troops will be dispatched to surround it. I found it to be the best tactic while dealing with German spec ops is let them come to me instead of rushing them losing men.

Good god enemy tanks everywhere! If what I can see is any indecation he's probly still got at least 30 of the things, no matter how many I kill there is always more.
This turn went very well for the germans. We killed a lot of the mobile AT platforms and quiet a few enemy tanks and lost none of our own in the process! Cource that won't last
I expect to lose at least 5 of my tanks next turn if not more.
The enemy is pushing very hard in the north and also trying to cut threw on the south. He is paying dearly for every inch of ground he gains thow
Eventualy he has to run out of those tanks!
Overall the germans are dishing out more then they are suffering which is good considering how outnumbered my poor tanks are. The german lines are holding for the moment, various spots are in a lot of danger of cracking in the north and south but he hasn't broken thru yet!!

Thats probly because they can actualy kill the amo trucks and command cars instead of just pissing them off like tanks
The turn was remarkably quiet. The germans see the soviets setting up to try and cross the vally in the north pulling back his tanks and throwing smoke foward to blind my 88's on the hill.
The soviets also apear to have a force in the middle, north side of the open field. Not to much stand in the way of my forces there and those rear vh's of his.
Overall the only area that is breaking in our lines is the north, the screening froce was just not able to push off that many enemy tanks under such heavy bombardment. I belive attrition is starting to take it's toll as in both areas soviets seem to be forced to pull back and regroup.

Well, here we go again. German Pz IV gets Molotoved by cavalry, LaS 762 finds a round from Soviet 88mm AA gun, it is not as good as its German analog but worked well this time, first shot. The best part was when one T-34 rolled into LOS of a German 88 AA position and second one came to cover it. Guess what happened next? 88 malfunctioned ! I've never seen that before and already counted those two tanks dead. With 88 AA position out in the south, all Soviets are facing are 4-5 Pz IVs and miscellanous infantry that will be taken care of by a nice friendly 152mm shower.

The south is indeed in trouble. Just the tanks I can see there are 10 left after my turn. I killed 2 and imobalized one in the south but there are just to many of them.
Soviets also lose a tank in the middle whom for some reason he left out in the open.
Soviets have pulled back in the north to a defencive stance and seem to have done the same in the middle as well.

The Soviet forces push hard in the south. The results are overwhelming: the germans rushed several PzIVs to stem the Red tide killing a few T-34s in the previous turn but as the result they were left open without infantry support. Soviets surrounded them and made them dance around shooting at multiple targets and being eliminated one by one. In the final 4 Pz-IVs were left burning in the southern forrest. Soviet push direction had to be adjusted though because of another 88 AA position that almost took out a T-34. In a bizarre accident German AC car took out OT-34 at point blank which I've never seen before
AC car isn't celebrating though as it got killed by the secondary southern push. On a minor note, Soviets introduced a company of KV-1C's in the south with pretty thick skin so we'll see how it fares against Pz IVs and 88 AA guns.
In the north a T-34 from the screening force killed Pz II that wondered to close.
Soviet Airforce flew 2 Il-2s in the north, discovering 4 Pz IVs sneaking in by the border. Both failed to damage anything.
I think as of right now the southern-central part is pretty open for a breakthrough except for that pesky 88 AA gun but it will get smoke and shells next turn.

This turn was relativly quiet. Some small fire fights here and there. One T-34 was lost when a flamepanzer got the jump on it
In the south one of my AC's bumps headfirst into a T-34 but failed to do anything but turn itself into a weenie roast.
I belive those PzIV's in the north will be able to break thru to all that horrible artillery back there. In other news I managed to hit one of my own inf squads with a rocket this turn

My plane takes out a tank in the south. The soviets are preparing to assault the north hill, they have thrown a ton of smoke in front of it.
I encounter even more tanks. T34's everywhere. All things considered my screening forces have performed remarkably in holding them off it may be time to move in the main army

Soviets strom the northern hill losing T-34 to 88mm AA gun but overruning it. Another T-34 lost in the south to a Pz-IV who gets killed anyway. Another Pz IV is outdueled by a duo of KV-1C and ZiS-30. Soviets lose another Il-2 to AA fire but it did manage to take out an AC car thus fewer 'eyes and ears' for the German northern group.

The flanks have crumbled. North and south hills have not held there where just to many enemy tanks. The northern and southern divisions have been slaughtered, only a few remain and while impressive they continue to try and fight the german situation is growing despret.
"The true measure of a hero is one who would lay down their lives in full knowledge that the people they save would never know their sacrifice"
In the very north T-34 gets killed by Pz IV which gets its own end by ZiS-30. On the northern hill T-34s surround Pz II but fail to finish, I need to talk to those guys about drinking less. The north seems to be full of 88 AA positions which would be hard to overcome. In the south, the push keeps going looking for the opposition. The only Pz IV is sitting far away on the hill in the back ovelooking the southern flank. I wonder if it's waiting for the reinfrcements ? The 88 AA gun gets finished by P-39 Aircobra.

In the north-central Pz II finally gets it. 88 AA position in the same area is suppressed by artillery so the path appears to be clear to the German rear through the center. It appears Germans are rushing some reinforcements there.
