Obviously, uniformed results. We all know my town Las Vegas is the friendliest city. Just bring your wallet or we won't let you in.

Everyone knows New Jersey is worst than Islamabad. Always has been! [:D]

As a former resident of NJ, I resemble that remark.

I read a comment from a resident of Florianópolis who was incredulous about their number one rating as he said the airport is a joke, untreated sewage pollutes their otherwise lovely beaches and it runs out of water in Summer.

Anyway, up the river from the photo in my original post, an eccentric Tasmanian gambling millionaire has built an amazing and crazy art museum called MONA. It looks like a Bond villain's lair, heaps of it is hewn from the bedrock and some of the stuff in there is pretty "out there" but it's great.

Best time to visit us in in the Northern Winter. Because we're surrounded by ocean it doesn't really warm up here until nearly Christmas but then Summer drifts on into April.

Cheers, Neilster

I believe it was described as "the armpit of the World" :/

That's a seriously authentic post-apocalypse movie set though. A Stalingrad movie perhaps?

That is what remains of the old Packard Motor plant. Once part of the great Arsenal of Democracy. Now a tourist destination for brave urban explorers.

What a delightful candidate for urban renewal, if I ever saw one.

Uttoxeter, England gets my vote for friendliest city in the world. The fact that warspite1 is mayor there helps.
warspite1

Thank-you parusski. As mayor of Uttoxeter I am proud of my city. I say Welcome to all* and free drinks all night for all first time visitors.

You should be proud. If for no other reasons than Uttoxeter being a "NO DUTCH" zone, as well as your recent banishment of MARJORIE.

I only saw Robocop once, over 20 years ago, so sorry but I don't understand the reference?

Is part of the reason that Cities from the USA rate so badly is the way that so many service workers "harrass" customers for a tip.

I understand their economic reason for it, many only earn around USD$10 per hr (At MacDonalds its around $7.50) so have to get tips to survive. However for people from other Nations this can be very offputting and as it starts at the airport and follows your every move it can ruin your opinion despite other more positive experiences.

"Old Detroit" was only a little worse than today's city.

Ah, Detroit done in by policies of certain types of politicians I am not allowed to mention. 60 years of one party rule gets that for you. Hey, warspite, why not hope across the pond, move to Detroit and built a new "center".

I live in the #3 (whoo - we're number 3!)unfriendliest city Oakland, CA! I'll be the first to say, that it depends ON WHERE you LIVE in what is affectionately called "The Town" - compared to "The City" (San Francisco). I've attached a map that helps provide a comparison for east coasters.

And there is a "modern day" Star Wars taking place at the Port of Oakland

Right, you fooled me there, thinking the map was off, mirrored, or just plain wrong... now I understand.
