I can't be the only one in the world, who does not know this phishing through programs to add/change something...[&:]

You mentioned to make a backup of the game before making changes: How is that done? If this is too difficult for you or anybody else to explain to me and others, I'll just wait for the 1.50 patch to be released, with I expect, the new Eastern Front Campaign. The bad news would be: I will never learn how install a MOD here. [8|]

I question how to add Lua file and overwrite files? and where do I find them? Are they something that can be copied and pasted (line by line), or do I have the concept wrong?

If any of you old pros at this have any suggestions, I'd appreciate the help.

I have done all this thousands of times, so for me it's easy,and I do it all now without thinking,it has become second nature.But at the same time I know,to someone who does not know how to do stuff like this, its a mind blowing concept.So with that it mind, I will go right back to basics,starting with how to create a new folder,to store your game file backups.

How to Create a new folder,so that you can save a backup off your game files.


Step 1 = Right click anywhere near the middle of your desktop.

Step 2 = A new screen will appear,using your mouse move down to the word (NEW) a menu will now appear,left click once on the top selection ( FOLDER ) highlighted in red,you have now created a new folder,this is where you will save your game file backup.

Step 3 = A new folder will now appear in the middle of your desktop,left click in the small box which is highlighted with a blue background,and rename the file something like for example : ( CTGW ORIGINAL DATA FILE )

Here is your new renamed folder,and it is now ready to store your game backup files.

Step 4 = How to move a copy of your game,to the new folder you have just created.First locate where your game is stored on your PC,when you have it located,right click once on the file,and a menu will appear,left click once on (COPY) see photo.You have now created a copy of your complete game.

Step 5 = Right click on your new empty folder,a menu will appear,left click once on the word ( PASTE )and a copy of your game will transfer to your new folder,you now have a backup of your complete original game.

Wish I knew how to do this before editing other games, that could "not" be brought back to original, like France 1940.

Ok now that you have learned how to create a new folder,and backup your game files,the next step is extracting the new scenario files to the desktop,so that you can easily gain access to them,before adding them to the game itself![;)]

See photo,first thing right click on the zip file that contains the new scenario.Then with the mouse scan down to the word ( WINZIP )this will reveal a new sub menu,left click once where shown,to extract contents to your desktop.[;)]

The scenario folder is now on your desktop,Left click twice on folder to open it.[:)]

The folder should now look like this.Again left click twice where shown, to gain access to the individual files,that you will be adding to the games database.[:)]

OK, What do I do with these 3 files? How does one add these to database?

Hi Bob,Copy & Paste the English text document file,into the Language file within the games database see photo.A popup screen will appear when you do this,asking if you want to save the new file,answer yes overwrite the original file.

Now open the scripts file by left clicking twice.

Now Copy & Paste the Eastern Front scenario into the scripts file.

Next step after adding the Eastern Front scenario,Open the UI file by left clicking twice see photo.

Final step Copy & Paste scenario file and overwrite the original.You can now play the new Eastern Front scenario.[;)]

On a personal level,I'm keeping myself busy,by creating a new campaign scenario, for the superb game War In The Pacific Admirals Edition.I'm adding the German navy to the game,along with a great many other things,at the moment this is for my own enjoyment.[:D]

So if I'm not about on the forum much you know the reason why.[:)]

SUCCESS!!!!! Thank you for your tutorial, would have never been able to accomplish the install without it....I sincerely hope others follow your instructions, they were well done, for even a computer dummy like me to understand (not without a little brain farts to do).[:)]
