Re: Operation Kingmaker: Insertion & Extraction in Caracas

I’ve fixed the date issue V1.71. Regarding the mission end, I’ve decided to let the player navigate back manually: SUCCESS CONDITION: The MH-47G must proceed to the USS Iwo Jima and enter the recovery pattern/zone.

To be honest, I couldn't find the specific Trigger or Lua code to trigger the mission end exactly upon landing, so I prefer this approach. If anyone knows the proper method for that, I would be extremely grateful for the help so I can implement it and keep learning from this great game.

Just to clarify: while this is my first 'official' scenario for CMO, I have experience creating content for other simulators. I'm open to any suggestions to make the mission more engaging or fun.

Also, I hope the issue regarding the ships' EMCON states gets resolved soon. Does anyone know if this has already been reported?

Ready for CMO Workshop?

Thanks for you efforts. It looks promising.

Re ship's EMCON state: if you mean what I have been discussing before, I took Nikel's advice and change posture towards Venezuela to Unfriendly, until the time I want the fireworks on. The reaction seems to be caused by a combination of Emissions detection by the Sentinel and the IR sensors on some of the ships - and last but not least, the initial close proximity of the US ships to Venezuela. I am used to position carrier groups at distances of 300-500 nm from land and less than 100 nm in this scenario felt strange in any case :-)

Based on my research, the USS Gerald R. Ford should not be closer than 350nm to the coast for security reasons, while the USS Iwo Jima needs to stay at least 150nm away to conduct special operations. I need to go over your suggestions and take a look at the Lua code for unit randomization

You may try by yourself to find all the stuff, direct link to the zone of the Iwo Jima, Sentinel-2, day 3 of January.

Operation Absolute Resolve – Changelog V1.8

1. General & Immersion Updates

Rebranding: Mission name updated to the real-world operation title: ABSOLUTE RESOLVE (Thanks to Benefan).

Mission Timeline: Advanced the mission start time to provide players with a proper window for tactical planning and pre-flight preparations.

Multimedia: Integrated a briefing video into the mission description to enhance operational atmosphere.

2. Naval & ASW (Anti-Submarine Warfare)

Gerald R. Ford Standoff: The carrier has been relocated to 350nm off the coast. This ensures the CSG operates from a more realistic and secure zone, preventing automated weapon systems from engaging littoral targets prematurely.

Sea Control Patrol: Implemented a new patrol logic for submarines, including the randomized appearance of the S32 Caribe (Type 209) in the AO.

Increased Difficulty: Randomized all biological and neutral subsurface contacts across the Caribbean. Contact classification and sonar analysis will now be significantly more challenging.

3. Air Order of Battle (Air OOB)

OPFOR Threats: Added new Venezuelan Combat Air Patrols (CAP) featuring F-16A and K-8W airframes.

BLUFOR Assets: Added F-22 Raptors and B-1B Lancers at NAS Roosevelt Roads to reflect the true scale and immersion of the operation.

4. Added Credits & Acknowledgments in Description

Special thanks to Nikel and KnightPawn for their invaluable collaboration in playtesting, technical feedback, and the implementation of new mission elements.

I hope you all enjoy this new version. Good hunting!

I saw this post after pushing v1.8, but it looks like I got it spot on! We fixed the 'instant' missile launches at T-0. We decided against adding satellite coverage, though—we didn't want to make it too easy for you. :D :D :D

Oops, error in the uploaded file—all fixed now! Having a couple of 'narco-boats' isn't a bad idea, maybe in next version if there is one, :D

I believe the start time and current time should be aligned, or else the time window for execution seems narrow especially if one wants to change the loadouts of the carrier air assets

I'll align those schedules this afternoon and extend the mission duration to 18 hours. I will also adjust a couple of other things we discussed (like the sub spawn rate). All details are important

congratulation!

i had a look on it and tested

some ideas/suggestions for you:

it was a big operation with many forces in background

so:

wishes/suggestions

- get a Pair of B-52H with Loadout "ADM-160C MALD-J [Stand-In OECM]" additional

- get a Pair of KC-46A Pegasus additional

- get one MQ-4C Triton UAV additonal

- add one LCS to the "Imo Jima" Group
maybe LCS 2 Independence - 2017

- add one submarine near the coastline caracas
maybe SSN 23 Jimmy Carter [Seawolf Class]

Set up Weather with "random" or
Weather witd partially clouds
full clouds - in a middle range of hight or so
actual there is no Wind / no Rain / no Cloud

changing start Time - 8 hours before -
Loadouts for helicopters and aircraft on Carrier F/A-18 /F-35 and so to "reserve"
then everyone have to choose - which loadout to use

CHANGELOG v1.94

SCENARIO CONFIGURATION

Start Time: Modified to 02/01/2026 22:00Z.

Duration: Extended to 21 hours.

Weather: Original ideal conditions maintained (optimal for laser designation).

Technical Adjustment: Initial zoom level adjusted to focus directly on the AO.

BLUEFOR FORCES

New Naval Units:

USS Vermont (SSN-792): Virginia-class Block IV submarine added as advanced escort.

USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD-28): Integrated with 2x LCACs.

USS Savannah (LCS-28): Littoral escort.

Renaming: CG-62 updated to USS Robert Smalls.

New Air Units:

CVN-78 Ford: Integrated F-35C, F/A-18E Block III,MQ-25 Stingray...

Iwo Jima: MH-60R, F35B,...

Air Base (Puerto Rico): Added support units including B-1B Lancer, support drones, and E-2D Advanced Hawkeye.

Naval Detachments: MH-60R/S, AH-1Z, and MQ-8C added to LPD and LCS.

Logistics: Units set to Readying status. Mk54 LHT standardized. Magazine corrections applied.

OPPOSITION (VENEZUELA)

Coastal Defense: Added coastal radars and anti-surface defense units along the coastline.

Ground Forces: Added armed infantry units deployed at Fuerte Tiuna.

Naval & Air Forces: Modified CAPs for higher reactivity; added new enemy surface units.

NEUTRAL & ENVIRONMENT

Civil Traffic: Added civilian surface units (merchant/fishing).

Dynamic Environment: Random probability for a second Venezuelan submarine and false biological contacts.

TECHNICAL FIXES & BUG REPORT

Bug Fix / Report: Implemented key workaround for interface inputs. I detected a bug regarding the initial map position saving: if adjusted only via mouse, the position is not saved correctly; using map movement keys is required. Is this a known reported issue?

FUTURE ROADMAP

Version 2.0 Notice: A "Global Conflict" version (v2.0) is planned, expanding combat zones nationwide. It will integrate the current surgical op and add heavy assets like B-52s. But for this, I will release a separate GLOBAL mission apart from this one

FEEDBACK:

Do you think we should adjust the opposition of the Venezuelan forces based on their current status?
