im VERY happy to report, that after an amazing 17 DAYS of fighting, Guadalcanal is COMPLETELY secure

as someone once said...

"the tokyo express no longer has a terminal"

i believe general vandegrift said that if i remember right

after fierce fighting on land, at sea, and in the air, there is not a single jap left alive on the island, that is not in shackles [:D]

the firece battle, is over

now for a rest and consolidation for the next hop

the carriers have also been withdrawn, and AC at PM and lunga, have been ordered to stand down and rest for about a week or so

supply convoys are leaving for PM to resupply the soldiers and airmen there

well, the fighting on the canal is over, the fighting on tulagi ended long ago, and i have my foothold in the solomons, and ive greatly strengthened my right flank

i also have a forward base to hit shortland, and then rabaul

i will prolly set up a base at rendova or munda, unless the japs do it first, then ill take it away from them [:D]



the socre is currently 4602 to 3001 with the japs having a slight lead, but not for long, as im catching up...

29 allied and 56 jap ships have been sunkinckluding 6 subs, at least 3 jap subs

the japs have taken HEAVY aerial losses, with over 3200 of them being op losses

theyve also lost just under 4 HUNDRED zeros!

total allied ac losses in the campaign thus far = 271

and the japs ? 635 !!!!! [:D][:D][:D][:D]

HALF of that is zeros, and theybve also lost over 150 bombers of all types
