With experience and a solid understanding of COG, which doesn't happen overnight, one could achieve a Glory victory rather quickly within the default setup. Of course the scenario options leave it wide open for much longer games, not to mention a few mistakes and you could go spiraling down from the top in a matter of turns[:D].ORIGINAL: Reiryc

So it's just a way to make things less easy for human players and to make the AI a bit more challenging...?
I believe it was done to slow down the ww2 like conquest of the map....could be wrong though.

This (and economic help) is priority for the second patch.

Eric, will the economic help come in the form of addenda to the manual? Is there going to be any additional documentation or just in-game tooltips, etc.?ORIGINAL: ericbabe

RE: Update Plans
Undo would definitely be most welcome. It's rather annoying to get stuck with something you misclicked.....

Both, from what we've discussed.

RE: Update Plans
Another question on upcoming patch content.
Are there any plans to add a "disband" option for all units? I built some Diplomats with kick ass ratings but I'm still paying upkeep for the useless weasels that I got at the start. Also, the 89th Militia unit has disappointed me greatly and needs to be disbanded after a shameful furled-guidon march through their home town. The alternative is letting them starve to death and even I am not that vicious.

Ooooh that'd be fun, a 'disband unit' button in a game with no 'undo' feature... [:'(]
Personally, I'd just transfer their men into other units until they're automatically disbanded.

RE: Update Plans
the devs mentioned adding an undo button for some functions
for a disband function, all you would need is an 'are you sure' prompt
also, you can't transfer men out of Diplomats

I think someone really wants to volunteer to join the testing team - how about it jchastain?
In the meantime, I am going to stop responding to questions on this forum, and play a game with the latest release of the beta-patch...

Actually, I did volunteer but it seems they have plenty of good testers. So I am trying to be patient, though I must confess that patience is rarely quoted as one of my strong points.

Patience is a virtue - but I just don't have the time. I'll talk to someone, or something.

RE: Update Plans
No chance in fixing the minor countriy surrender issue?.....Namely the failure for all provinces to surrender when the capital is taken, resulting in the need to constantly redeclare war as you attempt to seige each of the surviving provinces cities....
