This is after a few turns. And in this scenario I used Clash of titans and edited nothing but Hosho and the air groups.

I just re-checked my basic learning, and 26/52 means you're carrying 52 aircraft on a 26-aircraft carrier. Sorry. An aircraft carrier can only carry up to 110% of it's capacity if it wants to fly missions.

Have you made sure to increase airplane capacity on the upgrades as well?

How do I do that? I thought I only needed to edit the Class. I assume that an upgrade is another class, but the only Hosho-class is the original Hosho. It's a two-month scenario so there shouldn't be any upgrades.

Nope, same class.

Okay, the class you've modded (#110) is as the Hosho looks when she enters the game. However, as you can see, the scenario takes place in August, 1929, and by this time, the Hosho has had an upgrade, in September, 1923, to class#526. That's why it says "Hosho Class 9/1923".

So, your Hosho class goes from a capacity of 52 back down to 26, triggering the resizing of the air groups. You need to change the upgrade as well.

Don't feel stupid. You'd be more stupid if you didn't ask for advice.
