Slow turn. Only real action was my invasion and capture of Green Island - a dot base south of Rabaul.

Philippine Islands:
Troops come ashore at Bacolod. I hope to capture the base this turn. More troops are heading to Cebu and Baybay to complete the island conquest.

Solomons:
Troops begin assaulting dot-bases from fast transport TFs. There are a lot of allied control dot bases here and I do not want to give Nomad the chance to move troops around or hide ships.

China:
My Zero sweeps meet no AVG over Siangtan nor Hengyang - perhaps the AVG has given up and been pulled out of the area.
Also, my troops arrive at hex 81,53 capturing it - this hex is the key to rescuing the trapped troops at Siangtan. I am sending a unit across the river to capture the hexside so my troops can retreat. I fully expect the unit to get shredded in the attack (it not destroyed) but as long as it opens the hexside allowing 3000 AS to escape. Once they get some supplies and a few days to rest their AS will pop back up.

Sub Warfare:
I-15 - off the coast of OZ, is damaged by allied ASW. She could stay there a while, but she has been ordered home to Truk for rearming and repairs.

Philippine Islands:
IJA Troops attack and capture Bacolod forcing the enemy regiment to flee to the west.

Solomons:
Troops come ashore at 4 dot-bases from Fast Transport TFs during the night. Unfortunately a multiple CL-lead allied TF come over and said high (must have been on react) and sunk two PBs - but after they landed their troops.

China:
Fighter sweeps encounter no enemy fighters.

Sub Warfare:
Its been a while since my subs got on the scoreboard - but I-20 - off the coast of Sydney found and sunk xAK Lowana. No big deal at first, but when I checked the Air Losses I see a dozen Kittyhawk I lost to ground action - so that xAK must have been carrying them :) Thats a whole air group gone !!

Philippine Islands:
Baybay falls to my troops.

Solomons:
My troops captured four dot-bases this turn.

Philippine Islands:
IJA troops go ashore at Cebu.

Solomons:
CL-led TF bombarded Thousand Ships Bay during the night hammering the port but not hurting any troops.

China:
My fast lil Tank Regiment crosses the river into Siangtan and is instantly destroyed by the Chinese forces there, but it did its job and the hexside is open and my trapped troops have been ordered to escape.

Solomon Islands:
A 4 CL-led TF bombarded Thousand Ships Bay during the night once more pounding the port but not hurting any troops. The troops were later airlifted out by Mavis float planes at Rabaul.

Australia:
The past two turns I have been trying to sneak a midget sub into Sydney but no luck so far.

When you tried to sneak the midget sub into the harbor, do you send the mother sub in or just the midget? If you let the mother ship sit one hex outside of the harbor and send the midget into the harbor. If the midget somehow survives, she can move back to the mother ship hex and come back home for a reload/repairs. It doesn't happen often, but it will work on occasion. Much less dangerous for the mother ship too.

I sent the mothership in as well. So far I have tried 3 times and all 3 midgets have failed to penetrate the harbor - but at least the motherships got away.

Solomon Islands:
A CL heavy enemy TF bombarded Tulagi overnight damaging the port but only wounding a couple troops.

China:
My bombers are still concentrating on that stack of troops that escaped Wenchow. We are slowly wearing them down while I have troops chasing them down.

The escape door from Siangtan is still open and my troops are 16 miles along the escape route. They are moving 8 miles a day, so another 3 days to freedom and then some R&R to build back their strength. Not sure what is up, but after the fail attack at Siangtan it seems Nomad doesn't care if they escape.

Not much happened today - my troops are 8 miles closer to freedom at Siangtan and my new TOE Brigades are 2-3 days from Truk - then they will head south to occupy islands in the Solomons. I don't want to let Nomad just walk up the Solomons like last game - though he has done the same so far - but once these Brigades are in place it will be a different story.

Once the Brigades are at Truk I will escort them to their destinations. Might be a bit dangerous as Nomad has a lot of subs in the area, but we will try to wend our way around them.

Another Division and some more troops have arrived at Truk as well to begin forming my 'quick' response team. If my Brigades get into position without much issue, I may plan an invasion of my own in the southern Solomon area to kill an allied division or so - I have the location of three of them.

IJA troops capture Tacloban destroying the defending Regiment.
IJA troops attack the enemy regiment in the jungles near Iloilo forcing them to retreat to Dumaguete.

Sub Warfare:
I-20, off the coast of Noumea, was simply minding her own business after dropping off a midget submarine and she was attack with no provocation by a large allied TF consisting of at least 1 BB, 3 CAs and 5 DDs. The sub suffered heavy damage and is now limping home to Truk. This is not the first time allied ships have attacked peaceful Japanese navy ships.

Solomons:
The CL heavy TF returns to Tulagi to bombard once more inflicting minor damage on the troops there. Not sure how to counter this but I need to come up with something. What size port do allied CLs need to rearm? The only port nearby is Lunga and its only size 2.

China:
Bombers hammer Chinese troops trying to make their way back to his lines from Wenchow. Nearly a thousand casualties are reported.

China:
Another 500+ casualties are reported as my bombers hit Chinese troops.

My New Brigades have unloaded at Truk for a day or two of R&R before being loaded back on LSDs for the trip to their new homes. I am going to have to pull Hiyo and Akagi out of the repair yard to accompany them so I can ensure they make it to their destination.

Sub Warfare:
Another Dutch sub strikes again - this time sinking TB Kasasagi in the Malacca Straight. Only good thing is that the sub went after the escort and not one of the 10k tankers hauling from Medan.

Burma:
P-38E Lightnings sweep Magwe hammering the Zeros on CAP. I really hate these fighters - they are fast, effective and have a good range. They are sweeping at 40k - not much I can do against them until I get Tojos.

Mine Warfare:
Subs laid some mines at Lunga and Tulagi. Nomad is already clearing the mines at Lunga and hasn't been back to bombard Tulagi since I laid the minefield :(

Sub Warfare:
I-10, after laying mines at Kirakira, sighted an xAKL and attacked it on the surface. The ship was left burning and sinking.
I-1, off the coast of new Zealand, spots an allied AG and attacks, hitting it with a single torpedo. A few moments later I-1 attacked again and sunk AG Sirius.

Sub Warfare:
Since I forgot to move I-1, allied DDs arrived and damaged the sub. She could stay on station, but I have ordered her home for repairs. Once a few others subs refuel at Truk, I will send a replacement sub to take her station.

Sub Warfare:
RO-60 put 3 torpedoes into APA J.Franklin Bell sinking her off the coast of Lunga. Unfortunately, RO-60 was setup and sunk by the escort ship PF Mexican. The APA was carrying troops, but from the little intel we go they were all non-combatant - so maybe AV support or Engineers.

Philippine Islands:
IJN Troops attack and capture the dot base of Dumaguete, with the remnants of the 73rd PA Inf Regiment surrendering. The Philippine Islands are all ours except for Cebu.

Borneo:
IJA troops landed last turn and attacked this turn capturing Bandjermasin and the copper mines intact. The two defending units surrendered as soon as contact was made - they were out of food and ammo.

Sub Warfare:
RO-61 is located near Kirakira and attacked. The damage is moderate but she should make the trip back to Truk safely.

Solomons:
Allied ships bombard Tulagi again somehow avoiding the mines I placed. I know its not like I put down hundreds, but I hit every minefield I look at - would be nice to see some allied CLs hit some mines.

Sub Warfare:
Cripple I-1, on its slow trek back to Truk, come across an allied xAK and puts three torpedoes into her in two attacks sending her to the bottom.

China:
My trapped men at Siangtan are currently at Changsha on their way to some R&R at Wuchang as I consider my next move in china.
